We stayed in a Park Suite during our recent visit to San Francisco. We were travelling with our 2 sons (4 and 6 yo). I called around a number of hotels in the city looking for either adjoining rooms or a suite. None of the brand name hotels I spoke with had suites or would guarantee adjoining rooms. Thankfully we...

After a nine hour delay and a seven hour flight, I arrived at the hotel at 2am. I called ahead to advise I would be arriving late. There was nobody at the front desk to check me in and when I found the security person they called him and he said he would be there in a while. There was...

This hotel is steps away from Union Square, shops and restaurants. The first impression in the lobby is one of elegance. Friendly staff and nicely decorated rooms. I took an inside room for a quieter stay, and it had one window facing a narrow interior section of the hotel. Nothing to look at, but definitely quieter than a city street....

Comfortable rooms. Free coffee - as it should be for this range of hotel. Freshly brewed in the morning on the mezzanine level. Free wine tasting in the early evening. At the end of our stay the hotel limo took us back to the airport for a very small fee. Excellent hotel.

We spent 3 nights here and loved this hotel! The location is amazing...a couple blocks to BART, cable car, great restaurants, Union Square. Front desk staff was super helpful with directions as well as dinner suggestions. The rooms are a little small but, hey it's San Fran and everything is a little cramped. We put 4 of us in a...

Perfect base for a short stay and good value for SFO. Staff was friendly/accommodating and let me check in very early after an overseas flight. Close to public transportation, SFMoma/AT and T park. Rooms are basic, but sufficient for short stay. A bit dated/worn and sparse, but had basics a traveler needs. Beds super comfortable, but noisy hallway doors did...

We stayed here recently on our first trip to San Francisco, and I was a little apprehensive to stay at a boutique hotel to begin with, however, I was pleasantly surprised. I travel for work every couple of weeks to the Financial District in San Francisco. It's always hard to find a reasonable hotel to stay in at that location. I stumbled across the Galleria Park in the 100 block of Sutter Street and boy am I glad I did. The hotel is in an older building, but the rooms have...

My fiance, my family, and my puppy (45-50 lbs pitbull/boxer) stayed in a double queen sized bedroom. The room was tight but manageable. We also brought our dog crate as well, that took up a lot of space. Although the room was snug, there is a patio where my puppy could run around and play and poop and pee. It...

Staying in Financial District

Neighborhood Profile
Financial District
The Financial District lies just east of Chinatown but can seem a world apart given it’s San Francisco’s version of Wall Street. The rush of business people make up a hectic weekday and add to a frenetic pace of life, but visitors who spend a few hours walking the narrow streets will be rewarded with fine examples of historic and contemporary architecture, including the iconic Transamerica Pyramid. After business hours, bars and restaurants quickly fill up with happy hour revelers. Stocks aren’t the only kind of market being followed, the Ferry Building Marketplace on the Embarcadero is a gourmet food emporium and farmers market that will satisfy anyone working up an appetite.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Conveniently located in the heart of San Francisco, Galleria Park gives you easy access to everything the Bay Area has to offer to its visitors. The hotel is located with easy access to the Bay Area's central transit systems of BART, MUNI and the fabled cable cars. Within blocks are Union Square, Chinatown, the Financial District, Moscone Convention Center, and several world-class museums. The hotel is just steps away from world-class shopping destinations in Union Square--an area that is definitely a tribute to the power of shopping. Saks Fifth Avenue, Neiman Marcus, Barneys New York, Gump's and a very substantial Macy's are right on the Union Square. The venerable Bullock and Jones and Tiffany and Co. are within walking distance, as is the nine-story Westfield San Francisco Shopping Centre with its three-level Nordstrom and Bloomingdale's. It is also a center for exclusive couture and high fashion, with boutiques dedicated to Betsey Johnson, Kate Spade, Herve Leger, Karen Miller, and Michael Kors. Post Street, which is a block away from Galleria Park is where the high-end stores are located including Ralph Lauren, Ferragamo, Juicy Couture, Tory Burch, Ferrari and Porsche clothing stores. ... more   less

“Some rooms have strange layouts.”
  • First room on 8th floor with strange angles
  • Hardly any space between bed & cabinet. Adjoining door in distance.
  • Tiny bathroom
  • Original architectural details
  • Second room with more traditional layout.
