For the first visit ever we was unable to stay at our very cheap but pretty ropey hotel of choice in San Francisco. Wanting to remain in the Union Square area the Cornell Hotel de France was, at roughly two and a half times the rate, the cheapest sensible option we could find. It was a clean, comfortable, wonderfully well-located... More

Comme un rêve! It was really to me like a dream 💕, I came from very modern city Dubai and found some very old architecture filled of fine details which I love. It's for people who love the old ages and interested to live in old love story. I would like to thank the team starting with the nice receptionist... More

This hotel is simply fun! The decor is enchanting, the rooms are comfy, the breakfast is good and the staff adds to making the experience very pleasurable. It is a luxury to indulge in French dinner cuisine and wine there, then ride up the cage elevator to your room after.

From the minute you enter this quaint hotel you know you made a good decision. All the buzz words immediately apply like clean and pleasant, and good service, but add that it isn't like the big hotels you see in San Francisco. Cornell Hotel de France has grace, has all the trappings of the owners and staff pride in their... More

The room size was on the smaller side, the bathroom with a shower as well - but given this is SF, thats alright and you are out and about the whole day anyway. The room was tidy and well kept, the beds comfy. The whole hotel is designed in old European style - which is obviously not everyone`s cup of... More

This hotel is a wonderful little place and we will definitely stay there whenever in the city. The employees were all very friendly and helpful. We couldn't check in early but they are more than happy to store your bags for you. The breakfast is cooked-to-order in their lower level french restaurant. Service was wonderful. Room was small but who... More

The hotel is extravagantly decorated with French art and historical statuary, some very amusing. The standards are high, rooms very clean and the staff are friendly courteous and attentive. The restaurant, is a faux stone vault dedicated to Joan of Arc. The food is exceptional and reasonably priced. Eat there at least once during your stay.

Beautiful, charming, boutique hotel. Lots of character. Staff is very friendly and accommodating. We were given a key to the front door and let ourselves in after a late Giants game. Breakfast is included. Not a standard continental breakfast but white tablecloth service with delicious hot breakfast choices prepared to order.

Quite an old fashioned hotel. Basic, clean but just not for us really. The receptionist wasn't extremely helpful- more interested in selling us products (hop on bus) than helping our query re travelling around / transportation. The price was expensive. Great location though- right near union square, tram easy access and buses easily accessible.
