Have stayed a few times before and have memories of it being quaint and friendly. Service has declined and the area is very rough. Didn't sleep first night with continual sirens and homeless people who are camped across the street yelling. Whilst it is close to Market st and shopping area I suggest staying away from this area. Rooms are...

Dear je1972, Thank you for your repeat business at Hotel Bijou. We understand that you have many choices and am grateful that you returned to us. If you would be so kind as to elaborate to the decline in service I would be interested in your opinion on the matter. We have had very little turnover at the hotel and...

This hotel has very tawny neighbors but it is on the seedy side of the neighborhood. Great location but I did not feel safe and would not have stayed there if traveling by myself. The street noise from the displaced population that resides there was very loud all night and there was no air conditioning to drown it out. The...

Dear JLPLAX, Thank you for your review of our hotel. I am truly sorry that you did not feel safe while staying with us. The hotel is definitely in a good tourist location, but as I say, we were built five feet on the wrong side of the street. We continue to work with our local authorities the best we...

I love San Fran. There's so much to see and thanks to a great public transportation system it can be easier than you think. Let me start with the hotel location. Close to Union Square. This is the Times Square of San Fran. A hub for shopping, some great food and you can catch bus, train, or trolley close by....

Dear Anthony M, Thank you for the great review. As they say in real estate, "location, location, location" and Hotel Bijou does have it. Not only for our leisure travelers, but our business travelers too. I appreciate the positive comments about our staff and rooms. We look forward to hosting you again, the next time you are in San Francisco....

We booked a room last minute as our travel plans changed. The location was perfect for all we hoped to do during our 36 hours in San Francisco and the room was adequate and clean. Coffee and tea service in the lobby was appreciated as well as the tips and assistance from the desk staff. For basic, cost-conscious traveler this...

Dear Run2Ski, Sometimes unplanned detours can present fantastic experiences while on vacation. I for one am appreciative that you found us and we were able to participate in your time away. I, like the rest of my staff, enjoy giving guests tips on where to go and what to see. While there are the homeless that congregate around our block...

The room was very cleaned, friendly staffs, welcoming, a comfortable bed, great location, just a few minute walk from Pawell st station. The big problem was that loud and strange noise waked me up in the morning at around 7am. It was like that someone strongly knocked on the vent in the garret such as construction. That noise was continued...
