When we found out that we were joining a group going to San Francisco for the marthahon (we were joining the other grandparents to help watch the four kiddo's)-I asked where everyone was planning to stay. The larger chain hotel was one that I had stayed before and I was not impressed. Eight years ago, I stayed at the Bereford... More

After our stay in the Carmel Village Inn, we travelled up to San Francisco and stayed at the Beresford Arms for 4 nights. The hotel was in the historic part and well located. Handy for Union Square. The hotel was very nice, clean and comfortable and had some lovely decorative features. Breakfast was OK and complementary wine and cheese in... More

Lover old hotel with large full kitchen and living area for a hotel. Loverly foyer and friendly staff. Just up from union square and plenty of eating places close by. A short walk to the cable cars and if you feel fit you can walk over the hills to fisherman's wharf. The only negatives for this hotel would be that... More

The hotel was very nicely decorated and was full service in an older heritage building a few blocks from Union Square.. Our hotel room had everything in it that I could have expected, down to a bidet, not that I used it, but you know a place is classy when you have the option. They do provide free continental breakfast... More

We had a junior suite with two queen beds and a big complete kitchen for 189 dollars in july... Whirlpool bath in large bathroom quite appreciated, as well as brass fixtures. Wifi connection a little fickle in room 511...very quiet room. A free breakfastin the lobby was appreciated if simple. Do not forget to lift your eyes and look at... More

One of the more historic properties in San Francisco, short walk to Union Square and convenient for buses around the city. But just on the edge of the Tenderloin area a place to be avoided. Hotel gets 5 star for staff everyone from front desk even to handyman were exceptionally friendly and helpful helping us find our way around the... More

We have just returned from 4 great days staying at the Beresford Arms. It is an old style hotel so if you are expecting modern decor this hotel is not for you. Rooms were clean and pleasantly decorated with all modern conveniences such as a large TV. The free wine reception every evening was fantastic. Red and white wine available... More

We arrived at 2200 , and were a little uncertain we arrived to the right place. Quite dark street , strange characters etc. After we went to bed the fire alarm started beeping (law battery) . Service person arrived and fixed it (till the next failure...). The bad start switched to brighter days. The hotel is located very just few... More

Stayed there for 4 nights in June. It is well located near Union Square. The room and the bathroom are really spacious and clean enough. The whole hotel has an old feel but everything works well. Internet computers in the lobby came in handy. Staff is just ok. Breakfast and afternoon snack/wine are quite lame. In general, Beresford Arms is... More
