Nice hotel in Union Square within walking distance of the cable car. Very nice staff and clean rooms with good service. Convenient restaurants, pharmacy, markets and liquor stores near by. Neighborhood adjacent to the Tenderloin section which tends to have a large homeless population however I had no issues and always felt safe.
accross the street from a shelter but overall was good. Staff is friendly but make sure you state your business. rooms are clean and quiet. meet expectations for an hotel of this type. Would go again.
I often stay at hotel Spero because the value is so great. The rooms are clean, spacious (for SF standards) and stylish. Staff are accommodating and friendly, and the gym is well stocked with weights and aerobic machines, and very clean. Overall great stay, and I'll keep coming back. Only issue is the location to the south isn't as safe as it used to be. But it's easy walk to Union Square and shopping.
Please see the prior review. I cut my foot on broken glass that could have easily been picked up had vacuuming occurred. Glasses were awful. The sink still had makeup from prior occupants and I was never given confirmation email despite called 4x. Even in person the employee wasn’t sure they send out confirmation details. The manager on duty supposedly sent me one in person, but it was never received in any folder. Multiple employees were confused to if they even send confirmation emails
Friendly and helpful staff had late check in this was not a problem ,eXcellent location close to shops, . Trams and buses located of union square down load Muni travel app you can travel all day for 5 dollars on all buses at trams.
The staff was absolutely terrible. I would not stay here again. There are other hotels nearby for similar cost with better customer service. The gym was also dirty and had old towels on the floor. Pick another hotel.
Our room was bright, clean and functional -- great use of space for a small room. Full length mirror, several towel hooks in the bath, mini fridge, plenty of storage. Really impressed with the combination of location, price, and design. Beds are comfy and curtains actually block the light. The lobby is clean and thoughtful with plenty of seating (and great books if you need to borrow one). And the staff was fabulous - everyone was friendly and helpful.
I reserved my room online with the hotel. The day of it took more than 45 minutes to locate my reservation. Upon arrival the parking lot next door was not open or available and the gentleman at check in said they were having issues with the garage. There is no one to assist you after hours. I had a late check in at 10:40 pm and the front desk closed as soon as I checked in. I was not given the WiFi code but was charged for the hotel fee. The room was very lovely and nicely decorated with a retro mid century modern vibe. Unfortunately the bathroom leaves a lot to be desired. The shower is very narrow, the toilet is too close to the wall that you are unable to sit properly, and the sink is too small to be useful. If only the bathroom or service matched the beauty of the lobby!
The hotel was fun and friendly! The front desk was super nice and accommodating, I had a really nice experience but one thing that did suck was the parking situation. They didn't have a parking lot or valet to park their cars. So this hotel is best if you're just ubering around.
Love the staff and rooms! Feels more comfortable than your average big hotel chain. If you need anything the staff is always available, I like the higher floors and they will always seem to accommodate my needs when I arrive.
