I have never been to a hotel in a major city that did not have the basics; a thermostat, wall outlets, and coffee/tea maker. The Embassy is the exception! The hotel has an antiquated "accordian" heater that is regulated by hotel staff; but the staff says "they have no control" over it. According to the front desk, the heater is...

Ill try to make this quick.... this hotel takes "no frills" to a whole different level - Wrong room when we arrived, haven't seen my partner in 3 weeks and was given 2 double beds rather than the King we paid for. - Luckily we booked with Hotels.com because Embassy wasn't willing to compensate claiming that the double beds were...

We arrived after a long flight then drive from the airport. Going inside you could see the place needed attention with regards to the facilities. Even though it was not yet check in time the front desk person made a call to get us into a room earlier. The room was ordinary but clean the bath had no place to...

Good location in walking distance to the station for airport connections, close to lot of bus routes. There are a lot of homeless people, addicts and people with mental health issues around on the streets - but I saw that everywhere in SF. Being on my own it made it feel uncomfortable to go out in the dark. Hotel is...

If you are considering staying at this hotel, I'm glad that you're readjng this. I was planning my trip to San Fransisco and needed to quickly book a hotel, I saw pictures of The Embassy and the pictures looked decent--even nice! Arriving to the hotel at nighttime, one realizes that the hotel is located smack dab in the middle of...

We had three days to explore a huge city. We needed to be positioned well. This hotel was great for that. Less than 10mins walk to union square and on plenty of bus routes ( had a City pass so used this to get around as much as possible.) The hotel was a bit tired and wifi could only be...

First impression was its right off the bay bridge and easy to get too if you miss traffic! Slummy and big city next to Federal Courthouse and lots of homeless folks. End impression was pretty historic and cool! The hotel doesnt have many amneities except a cool coffee breakfast cafe attached and a tiny piano and library in basement exit...

I lived in SF years ago and knew what I getting into with the location. I don't think it's that bad and there area is changing now, but there is still drug and sex crime near by. How much of that you are willing to tolerate for convenience and price is up to you. If want you an equally good...

This is not the best hotel in the world however it was fair for the price, the room was large and cleaned each morning. It was reasonably well situated near city hall and wasn't to far from union square (10 mins walk). But it was very dated and beware the walls are paper thin and you can hear your neighbours...
