I was a little concerned with this hotel after reading the Trip Advisor reviews but was relieved to actually experience their hospitality. We stayed on the third floor facing the trolley line and did experience the noise ( some it we loved but some of it was very loud) but we made use of the ear plugs. Thankfully the trolley...

We recently spent 4 nights at Stanford Court and found the experience one of the best we have ever had at a hotel. The Valet, front desk staff, bar and breakfast area staff were all superb and very nice. The Concierge was very helpful and even the housekeepers got our attention with how very clean our room always was. The...

We arrived early at the hotel in the morning and the friendly staff was able to check us in but had to wait for our room. I knew we were too early so she suggested we leave our bags in the secure bag room. It wasn't too long before we received at call informing our room was ready. We got...

We booked a room with a partial view which was a little more, but it was well worth it. Being at the top of a very long, steep hill, the views are pretty good :) The cable car runs by but ear plugs are provided, we had our own so used them most nights. The hotel has lots of nice...

Located in nob hill only a couple of minutes walk to union square this hotel is in a great location. Reception very helpful. Room we had on the 7th floor was massive with 2 bathrooms, bedroom with very comfortable bed and lounge area. Some road noise but to be expected anywhere you stay in downtown San Francisco. Fantastic for the...

Located on Nob Hill in a beautiful area. Im sorry to say this hotel needs updating. Half the hotel appears to be closed off. The lobby has almost no natural light and very low ceilings making it feel claustrophobic. Carpeting needs replacing. Rooms are nice and staff are great.

Thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts. While we are in the planning stages for a renovation that will commence in 2017, not much can be done about low ceilings! Our lobby is actually spacious and energetic and full of wonderful staff members who are focused on keeping our guests happy and feeling at home! Half the...

This is great location on Powell and convenient for many places (but remember it's very hilly in San Francisco and they are on a steep one) Rooms are nice but could do with a little modernization. They were spacious for SF and better than many of the surrounding branded hotels. Breakfast buffet was quirky and expensive for what you got...

Thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts. We are planning a renovation that will commence in early 2017 and many of the odd nuances found in our historic building will be addressed. Our buffet is nearly entirely organic and actually a good value when compared to similar offerings at neighboring hotels. The food is extremely fresh as...

I was checking in here after a 14 hour flight, so I booked and paid for the night before to ensure the room would be ready for early check-in. Loved this boutique hotel. Arrived early hoping for early check-in and it was not a problem. Lobby and entry were very inviting, staff very hospitable. Loved how hotel used iPads for everything and had many Macs for guests to use. Beds and pillows were on the soft side, but am sure that other guests like that. Thank you.

Staying in Nob Hill

Neighborhood Profile
Nob Hill
Swanky and stylish, Nob Hill sits in the heart of the city and is home to amazing architecture and views. The hike to the top can be a challenging workout for those who forego a cable car ride, but they will be rewarded with some of the city’s most beautiful architecture adorning its peak. Originally populated with mansions after the Gold Rush, most if not all were devastated in the 1906 earthquake and fire that followed. Luckily all is not lost; storied hotels and Grace Cathedral surround Huntington Park. Having a drink or dinner while taking in the sunset and views at the "top of the Mark" is tough to beat.
