i stayed at the Hyatt Regency SOMA in San Francisco March 11-15 for a conference. The property is beautiful, obviously recently renovated, and just lovely. All personnel were professional, helpful, warm and welcoming. Since I was there for a conference, we had buffets for meals, and all were delicious, creative, presented beautifully and making eaters want even more! Onloy three blocks from the cable car and access to other transportation. Fun sort-of "dive" bar with locals that was fun---The Lark_- across the street. Office Depot across the street as well.
The view from the upper floors is fantastic. The rooms are neat, modern, and feature USB outlets, night lamps, and a huge TV. The bed was the most comfortable of the three hotels I've recently visited in the area. The staff is especially friendly and helpful. In particular, Sara went the extra mile to make sure I have a fantastic stay - thanks!
Absolutely fantastic place to stay. I look forward to using Hyatt Regency for future stays. The room was clean and the views are amazing out the window on the 29th floor. I wish they had complimentary breakfast as it was over $30 per person.
Hotel has been rebranded as a Hyatt and has completed a multimillion-dollar renovation. As a Hyatt Globalist who on average stays in hotels 100+ nights a year this has become my go to hotel when in San Francisco. The hotel has totally been redone, it is bright, artful, a place with good social energy, a great place to gather. The hotel offers a large fitness center with top-of-the-line equipment. It is one of the best hotel gyms I have seen in San Francisco. The front desk is professional, hospitable, they have made every effort to make my make stays pleasant. Housekeeping goes above and beyond, offering a service on par with some of the top Hyatt’s. Often when I leave for breakfast, I come back 1 hour later any my room has been serviced. At times they even add a personal touch, leaving extra amenities, and/or a thank you note for staying at the hotel. The experience in the restaurant and bar is above and beyond, far better on what you expect at a hotel of this caliber. In the morning the restaurant staff is refreshing, they are attentive and friendly. In the evening the bar has become my go-to place to relax and unwind. Danny and Sherman take hospitality to a level that is rarely seen at hotel bars. They interact and communicate with the guest ensuring everyone feels welcomed and happy. This hotel bar seems more like a charming neighborhood bar. “Where everybody knows your name. And they're always glad you came!” The food and beverage program at the Hyatt SOMA is on par what you expect at some of the top restaurants in the city. La Societe Bar and Café offers an extensive French Brasserie menu featuring classic French dishes. I love the chicken, mussels, scallops and porkchop entrees… the steak frites est magnifique!!! The wine list is always changing, offering interesting, quality wines by the glass from France and California. The Market located near the elevators offers a nice selection of salads and grab and go options. In the end… Hyatt has done an amazing transformation of this hotel. The hotel has become a destination of it’s own. The SOMA Hyatt Regency is located in one of the best locations in San Francisco with the best of what the city has to offer just outside the lobby doors.…
Location is fantastic. Refurbished rooms, convenient cafe downstairs, good gym with entertainment all made for a comfortable stay. Room service has limited hours, but there are so many places near by. Closet only has hanging space, no racks to put your clothes. Overall, my preferred place to stay in SF due to location and comfort at a good value.
I found my stay to be very comfortable and enjoyable. My room was clean and everything was in working order. I had a nice city view as well. The staff at the front desk were courteous and accommodating. I requested an early check-in with the understanding that it wasn't guaranteed based upon room availability, but a room was found and my request was honored. I enjoyed the $15 comp and the free water. The restaurant was also nice. I would highly recommend this property!
I was excited to stay at the badly needed remodel this building. Hyatt spent a lot on it, but missed the mark. The lobby and bar is designed social. The regency club is in an odd dead end and not very inviting. The rooms have been completely redone except the old doors that don’t shut at times. My room was left open more than once because I didn’t pull hard enough. The basic room is really small with a huge desk that makes the room feel more cramped. The finishes are just good enough to last a few years. The biggest issue is the elevators. They where not replaced and as you ascend to the reimagined property you hear squeaking and knocks as you rise. Really bad. Even worse was the the vibrations caused by the elevator squealing in my bed. If you lay silent, like trying to sleep, the buildings frame and floors are rattling. I had already decided to depart early and switch to the Hyatt Embarcadero (5 stars). This noise confirmed that the hotel didn’t go far enough to make this an exceptional property. The area around the hotel is very depressed post Covid.…
I love this hotel, beds are so comfortable and staff is super nice. Sara at the front desk was especially warm funny and accommodating! I highly recommend! I stayed here for a work trip and felt very welcome.
Beautiful location, hotel, great staff, cafe was wonderful, limited restaurant menu, pricey but good. Nice bar. Parking is rather high, issues with their billing, inconvenience. Good location, great room, mini frig, ease when getting extra items needed or forgotten.
From the moment we got to the Hyatt Regency, we were greeted by Sara at the front desk. She made us feel welcome and like we could count on her for anything. The room had plenty of room for me and my wife, and we loved the housekeeping crew that came every day. The views were phenomenal and we loved getting to see Sara every evening when we went up to our room. Check out and check in was easy too. Thanks Sara for making this a world class experience.
