My wife and I recently stayed at The St. Regis San Francisco as part of an SF staycation (we live south of the city) and had a great experience. The recently renovated rooms were very calming. The design does not have a strong personality, and the neutral tones, large windows, hidden storage/closet and open bathroom make them seem large and bright. While I thought the chairs in the room were not particularly plush, the bed was extremely comfortable and provided a great night’s rest. The bathroom had an efficient layout with a large shower and soaking tub that opens into the bedroom (allowing you to watch TV from the tub) and was pre-stocked with plenty of amenities in case you forgot something. Similarly, the desk area had plenty of office supplies and was positioned to see both the TV and take in the views from outside. The only missing items in the room were coffee and tea, and any semblance of a minibar, though these may have been removed due to COVID. There were Frette products throughout with especially comfortable slippers and the automated shades could be controlled from the bedside. The seal on the blackout shades was a little off and some light leaked in. Soundproofing was generally good — we were located right off of the elevator bank in 1205 so we could hear the elevator "ding" pretty clearly, but it was luckily not much of an issue in the evening when there was less traffic in the hallways. The food and beverage experience was a little inconsistent as I imagine the hotel navigates uneven demand post-COVID. In-room breakfast was a big highlight with plenty of selection and many delicious options (with the St. Regis Benedict and the fresh-baked pastries and jam being standouts). Our experience was so positive that it makes me want to return to the hotel for breakfast in the restaurant the next time I am in the area. I had one lunch in the main restaurant, Astra, while I was on-property and the menu is extremely limited right now (mostly salads and a burger option) and the food is moderately good, but nothing to write home about. There are plenty of great restaurants in the immediate vicinity, so I might wait to eat at Astra until they are back to normal service. The restaurant itself is lovely though — the new design is a perfect blend of comfort and opulence. Finally, the welcome amenity of macaroons and fruit was a nice touch, and there was always fresh fruit in the gym post-morning workout. The pool was under renovation while I was there, but from past visits is already a standout feature of the hotel (St. Regis is the only true-luxury hotel with a pool in the city if you don’t count the Four Seasons’s partnership with the adjacent Equinox). I am sure the new pool will be even more spectacular post-renovation. The gym had everything one needs in terms of equipment and amenities (e.g. cold towels, fresh fruit, infused water). The gym attendants while I was there did a great job of cleaning equipment, providing towels and being attentive to specific guest needs. The service at the hotel was excellent with the valets deftly navigating the somewhat awkward porte-cochère to fast and effective check-in and room service throughout our stay. Housekeeping did a wonderful job with all of the details during AM and turndown service and even left a pillow spray for the nighttime that we loved using. The views on our side of the building were not noteworthy as Yerba Buena Park and the surrounding buildings viewed from the 12th floor are a little underwhelming compared to the water views that might be present elsewhere in the city. The location is great though with convenient access to Union Square, some of the museums (SFMoMa, MoAD, Jewish Contemporary Museum) in the area and the Moscone Center. When choosing a luxury hotel in or near SF’s Financial District there are a handful of options and I think the St. Regis should be on your shortlist. My personal preference is the Four Seasons on Market Street — I prefer the design of the rooms, the amazing gym next door and the food and beverage program a bit more. The reality is that there is not a clear standout in the SF hotel scene, but one may emerge as the new Four Seasons at Embarcadero continues to develop and Auberge and Rosewood open new hotels in the next few years. For the time being, the St. Regis is an amazing option with a newly renovated pool, full service restaurant and bar, calming rooms and a location that is close to many local attractions.…
A very nice hotel in a great location to explore SFO. Very nice and functional rooms with great views of the city. Only surprise: no tea or coffee machine in the room. You have to order it separately … and probably pay extra. Not even tea cups were in the room. Surprising for a 5-Star. But that was the only hick-up. Everything’s else was enjoyable!
Beautifully classy hotel in a central location. This is our third visit. As Bonvoy Titanium, we were very well taken care of. The room is bright and the bathroom is beautiful. The food is also very good here. Whole Foods is just around the corner, as is Trader Joe’s. The Yerba Buena Park is across the street and the Moscone center is right there. A short walk to union square.
10 year anniversary. Planned 6 months in advance. We showed up on May 3rd, without kids, ready for a 4 night get away. When we planned the trip the hotel was super helpful and made sure we had everything we needed. On the first day, there was very loud jackhammering going on. The front desk told us it would be going on from 10am-6pm everyday until Friday. (Everyday we were there). There was no accommodations made. The noise was so loud in our room on the 12th floor, but could not be heard at all in the lobby. They didn’t attempt to move our room, reduce our daily rate or comp us any drinks or meals. We were so very frustrated, we ended up moving to another hotel last minute due to the constant jackhammering noise. We had been looking forward to this trip, staying in a nice hotel for our 10 year anniversary without kids. And I’m still bummed.…
For my wife's birthday, we stayed at the St. Regis. The overall experience was first-rate. To begin with a nice note and Birthday plate from the General Manager. The corner room with view over the city spectacular. The superb location right across the street from the Yerba Buena gardens and next door to the Modern Museum of Art. Breakfast with an outstanding menu and service added to our trip. Mona was our service attendant who went out of her way to provide my wife with a nice creme brultet plate. If you want a special SFO city experience, St. Regis is the place to stay.
Had an overnight stay here this past Saturday. The woman who checked me in was so warm and friendly. Nothing to complain about the room. Just exceptional. Spacious, comfortable bed, bathroom fitting for any woman. Love the 2 mile radius drop off. Close to so many restaurants. Private dining in the morning arrived in 30 mins. I'm all ready looking for dates to book my next visit.
The St.Regis hotel is located on 3rd and Mission in downtown San Francisco. It’s a top quality hotel with excellent service. Nice bar although we did have to return some poorly made Expresso Martini’s. The restaurant is nice and good food served although a bit slow. The bed rooms are of a high standard and spacious.
We came to the St Regis for my wife’s birthday weekend. Prior to our arrival I had spoken to daniel the concierge and he helped plan things to perfection. His dining recommendation and areas to shop in the city were all spot on. Jason and staff at the door were also very welcoming and helpful in terms of where to go and helpful tips on navigating the city. I also love the fitness center and all the latest equipment and free weights. Mel who works in the gym was always helpful and maintained the place to perfection and gave me confidence everything was sanitized. The breakfast was awesome!! And if you’re a bonvoy platinum member they give you a choice of breakfast entree and both a hot and cold drink for 2 which is around a 100 to 120 dollar value. The room had a great view and it was probably one of the nicest beds I’ve ever stayed in. They have a turndown service in afternoon and the room service was also excellent. It is expensive but they totally hit it out of the park and It was worth it. It was a nice treat and a memorable weekend for my wife and I. We look forward to coming back in the future…
We were doing a staycation to celebrate my wife's first birthday with the baby and we had an amazing experience. We were warmly welcomed by Jason at the front and Irma very kindly took care of us at the front desk, surprising us with a nice Platinum upgrade and kindly sending up some birthday treats. We had a chance to check out the stunning new lobby lounge/bar/restaurant both for dinner and breakfast and we were delighted with both experiences, especially the delicious menu and great execution on the food. This was an incredible stay and we are so glad we chose the St Regis to celebrate!
The St Regis San Fransisco provided a nice chill weekend break which was well needed. It is luxury, but not really at the level (cost) it positions itself. The good - very efficient check-in, nice room, elegant and very well setup and maintained. The not so good, noisy rooms, sirens and people noise from the street below was surprising (18th floor). The cleaning staff very noisy in the hall way, the door has 1” gap at the bottom so not very sound proof. The cleaning staff enter the room even with DND sign on. No stocked minibar or kettle in the room. The room service was very good but hideously expensive with plus this and plus that. The breakfast service at the restaurant was so so, slow and inattentive. They advertise breakfast until 11am but then at 10:29am told me the kitchen closes at 10:30am. I don’t think I will rush back.…
