I booked this property through Hotel Tonight after arriving in SF at 2am. I assumed I would receive the worst room, but I'm still baffled how the bill rose to over 1k when I checked out at noon and ordered just a breakfast. The original booking was @270. My stay was in June, 2015 and I'm still annoyed by the...

My family surprised me for my birthday by treating me to this hotel with our room with an incredible view of the bay bridge, embarcadero area ,ferry building,et al. The staff was very generous and welcoming. I was treated with a bouquet of tulips (not even in season, and my favorite flowers) when i walked in the room. Everyone from...

The Lobby was modern and welcoming and the staff were great. The location is good if you want to be near the ferry building but I would stay in a more happening area next time. The financial district was dead at night. The Room was just ok. The rugs and bathrooms are dated.

We have stayed at the Vitale many many times over the last seven years and the service and accommodations are always stellar. Every staff member is friendly and genuine. The rooms are very well appointed and relaxing, the view is stunning and the location can't be beat. Having so many wonderful restaurants, bars and activities within walking distance makes the...

The hotel is incredibly well-located, with a great view of the Bay Bridge immediately upon leaving the hotel and a short walk to cable cars, streetcars, and the magnificent waterfront. The staff was terrific -- special kudos to Kelly in reservations, Julia at the front desk, and the friendly doorman -- and the hotel and our room were beautifully appointed....

The Website is very mis-leading! This is Not a Luxury Hotel. This not a Boutique Hotel. This Hotel has the Dullest and Most Unwelcoming Lobby that a Lobby can be. This Hotel is very Ordinary - the Rooms are Ordinary, the food is very Ordinary. The "Roof Terraces" accessible to ordinary, Guests are very, very Ordinary. Only some rooms look...

The hotel is beautiful, zen vibe going on, great staff and great location on the Embarcadero waterfront. Also used the spa for a great couples massage and bath treatment (on the roof top). Very relaxing weekend away from the kids.

We really enjoy staying at Hotel Vitale on our trips to San Francisco. It's great location is a plus, particularly since it is across from the Ferry Building. The staff is always welcoming and is very accommodating. We often eat at Boulevard which is across the street. And the elevators are very fast.

Stayed here 4 days in the beginning of December and I hope to be back soon! THE LOCATION: Can't be beat! Across from the Ferry Building and right on the Embarcadero. The F line stops right outside the hotel which will pretty much take you to any touristy attractions you want to do in the city. I was able to...

I rented a suite at this hotel in July for Independence Day and also hotel catering. It was a suite with an outdoor patio to see the fireworks. The suite was spacious, though more like a regular king room with a murphy bed which allowed more space, so the only real addition or benefit was the patio. I ordered a...

Staying in SoMa

Neighborhood Profile
SoMa
South of Market (SoMa), has an urban and sophisticated vibe, but you're more likely to find big nightclubs and lots of industrial loft residences than you are to find boutique shopping. Although it’s the epicenter for tech startups in the city, visitors will be able to do more than just business - museums, top quality restaurants, and the San Francisco Giants now call this neighborhood home. Most of its freeway-sized streets may not capture the same character as other neighborhoods in the city, but pockets of charm, like South Park, can still be found throughout its side streets.
