This is definitely my favored Hotel in San Francisco. I am getting here the fifth year in a row. The hotel gives me the nice feeling of good old San Francisco. You can reach most places by foot or by the city railroad on Market Street. Definitely a place for want to enjoy the town.
Kind staff, great atmosphere, Continental breakfast, international thrifty guests, excellent neighborhood, Nice area with great little grocery next door and 2 blocks to Grace Cathedral and labyrinth. Old style decor,
We spent 4 nights at the Mayflower on the end of a road trip down from Seattle. What a great way to spend the last part of our vacation. We arrived early (about 10am) just to drop our bags before we returned our rental car to the airport. Very surprised when we were able to check in so early which saved so much time. Throughout our whole stay nothing was too much trouble, all the staff were really friendly, helpful and very laid back. Our room was at the front which made it a little noisy at times but when you consider the location that's no surprise. And since we were on the sixth floor general background noise wasn't a problem. The room was pretty spacious with a walk-in wardrobe which made a big difference. How many times in a city center hotel do you end up tripping over your suitcase? I think the only thing missing from the room was a kettle or coffee maker, but again it wasn't a problem because of all the great coffee shops nearby. I would stay at the Mayflower again evertime because its far enough from the center (where many of the homeless hang out) but near enough to be able to walk in the evening for dinner etc. …
Stayed here for 3 days and the hotel is very conveniently located near Union Square near lots of restaurants and bars. The Hotel itself has breakfast as well and parking included in the price. The parking is very narrow and at times you can have issues getting in and out. The rooms are old and outdated and the ceiling fans need to be cleaned a bit.
We just finished the most wonderful stay at the glorious Mayflower Hotel . The owner Nancy is really involved in her magnificent Historical hotel, perfect location to seaside and downtown . The rooms are fully equipped and spacious with the best housekeeping . The topper was the breakfast , quite a spread very impressive. Do not hesitate to grab this wonderfully run hotel and great friendly service. Than you Mayflower for the memories in San Fransiso.
