One bathroom per floor under remodelling and not sanitary at all. Website is not very clear about conditions, San Francisco is a very expensive city and this is one of the most affordable hotels, so it attracts a budget concscious clientele but I could tell other guests were not very happy with the state of affairs here.

The place was clean, but old and not really nice. The staff was distant and not smily but professional. The bed was really not comfortable at all, I would not really recommend this place. We did not feel very well in this motel, you can find better for 85$ a night.

It's a terrible place, we left after 2 hours (which we needed to find another hotel) because it STINKS, the window of our room was kind of broken you couldn't close it right, almost every window glasses in the floors are missing, toilets didn't work, a lot of weird people there...you really don't want to go there. Please don't do...

Where to start... the junkies, puddles of urine and homeless scattered around the entrance should have been reason enough to look elsewhere Inside the "hotel" the check in guy looked and smelled high, the floors in the hallway are lumpy the walls have cracks and look like they were painted by a 5 yr old. We tried 3 rooms before...

Don't expect too much from it and think it's a new hotel. It's a very old building and that's why it smells old, but the room that I got was in good condition and it had one window without a view. It comes with a new flat screen tv, a small refrigerator, a 3 shelves cabinet, a small sink, and...

My friend supposed to host me but for an emergency situation I booked 2 nights in Budget Inn. Such a terrible mistake of mine! Usually I dont write reviews even if I had a bad experience, but this time I have to share the story, because I wouldnt want this to happen to anyone especially to a solo female traveller. I read a woman's review here that says she stayed here alone for a week and it was ok, so I decided that I...

I guess I knew what I was getting into after reading the reviews, but was hoping to save 30 bucks staying here instead of my trusty lodge just a few blocks away. Communal bathrooms; Hot, stuffy, décor less rooms with hair covered sheets and poop stained towel (yes just one tiny crappy towel); dogs barking at us from half closed...

Staying in SoMa

Neighborhood Profile
SoMa
South of Market (SoMa), has an urban and sophisticated vibe, but you're more likely to find big nightclubs and lots of industrial loft residences than you are to find boutique shopping. Although it’s the epicenter for tech startups in the city, visitors will be able to do more than just business - museums, top quality restaurants, and the San Francisco Giants now call this neighborhood home. Most of its freeway-sized streets may not capture the same character as other neighborhoods in the city, but pockets of charm, like South Park, can still be found throughout its side streets.
