Pros:
Free parking (a RARE find in SFO!)
No resort fee
Very clean rooms
Larger fridge than most hotels
Sink separate from toilet and shower
Comfortable Beds
Friendly staff
Great location
Walking distance to a few great restaurants
Never felt unsafe
While other hotels are not offering housekeeping, they offered to tidy our room if we chose
Cons:
No elevator if you are on the 2nd floor
Small parking lot (leave your extended cab truck at home!)
I will absolutely stay here again!
Other advantages of this structure are the location very close to several bus stops, which allow you to easily reach every corner of the city, and the 24-hour reception service, which allows you to arrive and depart at any time. We found the staff at reception friendly and helpful, and they even stored our suitcases for free for half a day upon check-out. There is also a convenient, free private car park in the structure, for those who need it. We found the area, on Lombard Street, to be quite quiet and safe, with the possibility of moving around easily on foot even in the evening, without running into any unpleasant incidents.
Our room was on the upper floor overlooking Lombard Street, and despite it being a fairly busy street, the glass limited external noise well. The room was quite clean, tidy and with everything you need, including air conditioning, refrigerator, microwave, TV, coffee pod machine, hair dryer, towels, toilet paper, etc.
The bathroom was clean and well kept, with a large shower and hot water available. The room is equipped with internal shutters that limit external light well. However, the price is certainly quite high for our standards (in August), considering that the room was also a little small, given the difficulty of keeping two suitcases open without being in the way. Although the room was quite clean, the smell perhaps coming from the carpet was not the best, and we had to air it often. The bed, although comfortable, was a little small for two, and seemed more like a queen size bed than a double bed. Unfortunately, parking is not available for everyone, and if the Motel is full, someone will surely be left without a parking space. That said, this property is still a good compromise for a short stay in San Francisco.
The furniture is beat up and worn out. Our hair dryer assembly (wall mount, bracket, cord and hairdryer were all laying below the sink and you had to hold the whole assembly to use it. Not sure why it wasn't mounted on the wall? Oh wait , the bracket from the old hair dryer is still on the wall. So let's throw a newer one beneath the sink..
You can barely move in this room and 2 suitcases made it worse. We are travelling right? It would be nice not to trip over luggage because it has to sit in the only walking space you have.
Dirty carpets, blood on the ceiling, dirt on the walls, mold, windows so dirty you can't see ..... There is a trend here and it's not a good one.
We prepaid for this room and considering the previous response I received figured we may as well make it work as no refund was coming if we left.
The location worked for our purposes. Traffic and party noise until 3 am from the surrounding area is not conducive for a great sleep.
I would skip this one folks and stay somewhere else.
Location was key for us as we walked almost everywhere. Seaside Inn is 3 miles from Golden Gate bridge to the west and 1.4 miles from Fisherman's Wharf to the east. China Town was 1.8 miles away.. Most tourist sights are within close proximity to Seaside Inn..its right on Lombard Street, but traffic noise was not an issue for us ..and our room was close to the front of the building. Definitely recommend and will definitely stay at Seaside Inn on our next visit to San Francisco..
Basic breakfast would be appreciated as it was probably once offered (seeing the photos)
