I wish I had know about this place the last time I visited San Francisco. Though it is not a well known hotel brand, it was convenient for my two night stay. The selected room was small (right above the office, on the street side) but the bed & pillows were very comfortable. There is free parking and the location is about 15-20 minutes walk to the Fisherman’s Whalf to rent a bike.
The Seaside Inn is in a great position a 15-20 minute walk from Pier 39 and only a few minutes walk from lots of good restaurants. We upgraded our room on the advice of the Manager which was a good decision. The hotel was really clean and staff were helpful. The breakfast was more than adequate and easily accessible to take up to your room. The staff were helpful on advising on trips and places to see. We did Sausalito and Alcatraz. Thoroughly recommend to stay there and not expensive even with upgrade.
Staying at the Sea Side Inn in 1750 Lombard street was the worst experience in my 40 years of traveling around the world. I had plan to leave San Francisco to Los Angeles very early on that Saturday morning Dec 7, the two story hotel building had no elevator, as I had one big suit case and 2 big bags I had to make two trips to bring the luggage down to my car inside the hotel parking lot. I brought down the first two bags leaving the car unlocked as it was 5 a.m., by the time I went up stairs and bring down the other case everything was stolen from the car , it happened in a matter of couple minutes. It was the most devasting thing that happened to me as I had in one bag my wallet credit cards , cash, driving license etc. so everything was gone including the two bags full of Christmas gifts and personal belonging. At 5.10 I called the police and because they were off shift, they showed up at 8.30 a.m. Meantime I checked with the lady at the reception the record of the security video camera, suddenly it was off, last time recorded was back in October. My only chance to give some evidence of the suspect to the police was denied by the hotel’s negligence, they should be ashamed to leave off for such long time, they should be concerned about the security of their their guest. To finish this sad story I was able without any money to make down to Los Angeles where some friends help me out with some cash. After this terrible experience, I WON’T RECOMMEND TO ANYONE TO STAY AT SEASIDE INN.…
Stayed for 4 nights, good location, comfy bed, rooms nice and clean. Aircon & shower both very good, better than expected. Good walking distance to touristy area. Street a bit noisy some nights, but don't mind for the location. Just not used to being right in the city I guess. Overall would recommend & stay again.
We decided to stay here because it was “reasonable” for the area. Parking is a huge plus and we definitely used that, since we came in from a coastal drive. If you’re in good physical shape-you should be able to walk to all the major attractions-which is about a mile away. Parking is very expensive by the wharf -$8 for 1/2 hour. This is a sweet place, clean and nicely updated.
