This motel was a huge surprise on our trip through California. It was easy to find (good signage), clean and well appointed. The room was honestly nicer than the big name, deluxe chain we stayed at in Los Angeles!

Pros:
Free parking (a RARE find in SFO!)
No resort fee
Very clean rooms
Larger fridge than most hotels
Sink separate from toilet and shower
Comfortable Beds
Friendly staff
Great location
Walking distance to a few great restaurants
Never felt unsafe
While other hotels are not offering housekeeping, they offered to tidy our room if we chose

Cons:
No elevator if you are on the 2nd floor
Small parking lot (leave your extended cab truck at home!)

I will absolutely stay here again!

I wish I had know about this place the last time I visited San Francisco. Though it is not a well known hotel brand, it was convenient for my two night stay. The selected room was small (right above the office, on the street side) but the bed & pillows were very comfortable. There is free parking and the location is about 15-20 minutes walk to the Fisherman’s Whalf to rent a bike.

We chose this motel for its location, a few steps from Pier 39, the Golden Gate and all the other attractions of the center, but above all because it is located in a safe position, away from the more run-down neighborhoods, such as the Tenderloin.
Other advantages of this structure are the location very close to several bus stops, which allow you to easily reach every corner of the city, and the 24-hour reception service, which allows you to arrive and depart at any time. We found the staff at reception friendly and helpful, and they even stored our suitcases for free for half a day upon check-out. There is also a convenient, free private car park in the structure, for those who need it. We found the area, on Lombard Street, to be quite quiet and safe, with the possibility of moving around easily on foot even in the evening, without running into any unpleasant incidents.
Our room was on the upper floor overlooking Lombard Street, and despite it being a fairly busy street, the glass limited external noise well. The room was quite clean, tidy and with everything you need, including air conditioning, refrigerator, microwave, TV, coffee pod machine, hair dryer, towels, toilet paper, etc.
The bathroom was clean and well kept, with a large shower and hot water available. The room is equipped with internal shutters that limit external light well. However, the price is certainly quite high for our standards (in August), considering that the room was also a little small, given the difficulty of keeping two suitcases open without being in the way. Although the room was quite clean, the smell perhaps coming from the carpet was not the best, and we had to air it often. The bed, although comfortable, was a little small for two, and seemed more like a queen size bed than a double bed. Unfortunately, parking is not available for everyone, and if the Motel is full, someone will surely be left without a parking space. That said, this property is still a good compromise for a short stay in San Francisco.

Our family of four, including two teens, just stayed at Seaside Inn for a couple of nights and we were very happy with our stay. The room overall was comfortable. It isn't a huge room, but was enough space for the four of us for relaxing/getting ready etc. The sheets and blankets were soft, which made for cozy sleeping. We could hear a bit of road noise at times, which is understandable in a city, but it was fairly muffled and not an issue at all for sleeping. The shower was hot and had good pressure. The location felt safe. We walked at night the couple of blocks to Union Street for dinner and then again early morning for coffee and didn't have any concerns. The location was close enough to walk to Pier 39, Ghirardelli Square, Union Square and China Town etc, again feeling safe. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. (Our initial flight to San Franciso had been delayed and then cancelled and we couldn't get another flight for two days. They had availability and allowed us to change our reservation without penalty.) We felt the price for the quality we received was very good and definitely would recommend Seaside Inn.

In March 2022 we stayed for four days at the Seaside Inn in San Francisco. The Motel is getting on in years, when you enter the very clean room you immediately notice the musty smell. The best thing about our room was the bed which was excellent and very comfortable. Unfortunately you need earplugs to sleep at night, as so often in simple motels the doors do not close properly and the traffic drives straight through the room. There are a few parking spaces in front of the Motel, but not one for each room. So if you are unlucky, you have to look for a parking space in the surrounding area which might cost money. The biggest criticism, however, is the catastrophic Wi-Fi, permanent disconnections and an Internet at a snail's pace like 20 years ago, that alone is reason enough not to stay here. All in all, $527 for four nights is way too much.

Hi Mario, Thank you for your review. Although we are glad to hear that you found the room clean and the bed comfortable, we are disappointed to learn about the aspects of your visit that marred the overall experience for you. We apologize for the musty smell that you experienced in the room. We wish you had made our staff aware of this as they would have gladly taken care of the issue and switched your room to ensure a pleasant stay for you. Nevertheless, we have noted your feedback, and we will see to it that our housekeeping staff does a better job of airing out the rooms moving forward. We are sorry to hear that you had difficulties with our WIFI. Our WIFI tends to be pretty good usually, so it is strange that this happened. Please know that we will contact our network provider to ensure that this was just a one-off incident. Also, the signal strength could be stronger or weaker depending on the room itself. So, if there was an issue with the room, it would have been no problem to get that changed for you so you could be more comfortable. As for parking, we know it is limited; however, we do provide convenient parking for our guests and try our best to accommodate all our guests for this facility. We would dearly love to have more parking available for our visitors, but, unfortunately, space around our property is very much at a premium. We regret the noise issue that caused you some inconvenience. While we don't have much control over external noise, we can probably look at assigning a quieter room for you the next time, should you choose to stay with us again. Thank you for considering our accommodation for your stay in San Francisco and taking the time to post your review. We know we can do better, and it would be an honor to have another chance to change your perception and restore your faith in our facility and hospitality. Best Regards, Seaside Inn Customer Care Team

The truth. I am not sure how this hotel receives it's great reviews. It's a mold infested, run down nightmare. As you will see in the pictures, there is mold, worn out furniture, barely enough room to even turn around, windows so dirty you can't even see outside, with damaged and dirty walls/floors. Our experience started with me smashing my finger trying to open the door to the room. It only opens half way and runs into a cabinet behind. I am somewhat sensitive to mold and my sinuses were plugged immediately and my nose started pouring. As you can see it's on all the windows and corners of the room. I asked to move rooms and was told this is what I paid for and that's all there is. Great service!
The furniture is beat up and worn out. Our hair dryer assembly (wall mount, bracket, cord and hairdryer were all laying below the sink and you had to hold the whole assembly to use it. Not sure why it wasn't mounted on the wall? Oh wait , the bracket from the old hair dryer is still on the wall. So let's throw a newer one beneath the sink..
You can barely move in this room and 2 suitcases made it worse. We are travelling right? It would be nice not to trip over luggage because it has to sit in the only walking space you have.
Dirty carpets, blood on the ceiling, dirt on the walls, mold, windows so dirty you can't see ..... There is a trend here and it's not a good one.
We prepaid for this room and considering the previous response I received figured we may as well make it work as no refund was coming if we left.
The location worked for our purposes. Traffic and party noise until 3 am from the surrounding area is not conducive for a great sleep.
I would skip this one folks and stay somewhere else.

The Seaside Inn is in a great position a 15-20 minute walk from Pier 39 and only a few minutes walk from lots of good restaurants. We upgraded our room on the advice of the Manager which was a good decision. The hotel was really clean and staff were helpful. The breakfast was more than adequate and easily accessible to take up to your room. The staff were helpful on advising on trips and places to see. We did Sausalito and Alcatraz. Thoroughly recommend to stay there and not expensive even with upgrade.

Stayed at Seaside Inn on Lombard street for 4 nights ..clean and very accomodating staff..I think she is also the owner.
Location was key for us as we walked almost everywhere. Seaside Inn is 3 miles from Golden Gate bridge to the west and 1.4 miles from Fisherman's Wharf to the east. China Town was 1.8 miles away.. Most tourist sights are within close proximity to Seaside Inn..its right on Lombard Street, but traffic noise was not an issue for us ..and our room was close to the front of the building. Definitely recommend and will definitely stay at Seaside Inn on our next visit to San Francisco..

Motel in good location along Lombard Street. With a 20-30 minute walk you can reach the center, Pier area. We stayed two days. Fairly large room, very clean (despite the almost inevitable carpet), equipped with the various necessary accessories. Parking available without crowding problems, at most there are free spaces even on the street. It's not cheap but given San Fransisco prices it's good value for money. There is no breakfast.
Basic breakfast would be appreciated as it was probably once offered (seeing the photos)

We had a lovely 3 night stay here in SF. Was easy to find, and parking available on check in. We didn’t move our car until departure. The area was nice & felt safe leaving our car. Bed was massive, and shower was excellent. Generally clean & tidy. Fridge/Microwave/Coffee Machine in the room which was helpful. We heard a bit of noise from the room next door, but not enough to bother us. Whole motel was quiet overall & didn’t hear anything from the street outside. There is a big Safeway about 8 - 10 min walk from Seaside Inn, which was very helpful. It took us an hour to walk to Golden Gate & 20mins to Fisherman’s Wharf area, so was a good central location.

BART from SFO and then, depending how much energy you have left, a walk of just under two miles. Alternatively, Uber from the BART station at around 5 dollars.
