We stayed in a double bed room and room was very small even bathroom too. for one night its ok to stay. But there are lot of noises from outside during the midnight like screaming, etc which is very scary those who dont get sleep soon. Eventhough hotel is very old, they maintained it very clean and safety wise also they have... More

Great location, terrible neighbourhood. A lot of homless people outside on the streets. But I guess that's the case for many neighbourhoods in San Fransisco. Hotel interior is since it was built. Probably 50 years ago. Rooms are clean and the staff is nice.

So we finished route66 and decided to go to SF booked this back in uk. Not sure if area etc. Knew SF was an expensive place to stay. Aware it was shared bathroom. The hotel is old but the room was clean with lovely soft fluffy towels. The area of the hotel was bit dodgy at night time but in... More

I booked this hotel after reading the reviews. People are complaining about shared bathrooms, but if you read it properly you can book a room with a private bathroom. Our room was small but clean with a private bathroom. Prices in San Francisco are very expensive and the Aida is cheap. All we wanted was a clean bed and shower... More

Very good location but hotel itself extremely dated ,I paid extra and had bathroom in room rather than shared facilities in each corridor. Was on the 6th floor towards the rear and good to be away from noise of Market Street , breakfast basic box of doughnuts and tea or coffee. All very old and worn but you get what... More

Right on the market Street and walking distance to Union Square shopping. Let's say you are in the middle of action. I stayed on Lvl 3 and could easily hear the Fire Brigade siren many times over the night. This side of the Market Street has got a lot of homeless people who sleep outside the shops and hotels. They... More

During living here, countpart and security are warm and good. If you need receipt for your expense report. You need to tell them when you check-in. If you tell them during check. You will get into trouble. They might say email to you. But, you need take a long time to push them to send it.

My wife booked a surprise 50th birthday trip to San Francisco for me for the 50th Super Bowl celebration. Due to extremely overpriced Super Bowl hotel prices she booked the older, affordable Aida Hotel. Considering we saved approximately $500 per night over the other hotels, I'm very happy she went with the Aida Hotel. The hotel was a short walk... More

We had to stay at this property since we visited SF on superbowl weekend and everything was booked. The worst oart was that the rooms had shared bathrooms at the end of the floor. I don't know why it calls itself a hotel and not a hostel. The hotel was old- it has a box of TV which we were... More

We booked this hotel from Internet because of its fair price. The room was quite small and sober with one small bed a sink and a shower. Some rooms have central shower in the corridor. Breakfast consist of coffee and doughnuts. Unfortunately this part of Market Street is frequented by homeless people and the like.

Staying in SoMa

Neighborhood Profile
SoMa
South of Market (SoMa), has an urban and sophisticated vibe, but you're more likely to find big nightclubs and lots of industrial loft residences than you are to find boutique shopping. Although it’s the epicenter for tech startups in the city, visitors will be able to do more than just business - museums, top quality restaurants, and the San Francisco Giants now call this neighborhood home. Most of its freeway-sized streets may not capture the same character as other neighborhoods in the city, but pockets of charm, like South Park, can still be found throughout its side streets.
