Stayed here for 3 nights in a private en suite room. Accommodation is so expensive in San Fransisco that even budget hotels were out of our league. Had some reservations about staying in a hostel but these proved totally unfounded - the staff were super friendly and helpful, the room basic but had all we needed. Breakfast each day was... More

Overall my stay was pretty good. PROS: I felt safe because the front doors locked at night and the location was great. Powell Street is just a short walk and is the closest Bart/Muni stop. It made getting around San Francisco really easy. I loved getting to know my roommates and trusted leaving my stuff in room. I did bring... More

Amazingly central location. 2 block downhill walk to Market St where you can get the trolley or streetcar (tram) almost anywhere in town. The BART to the airport and the SF metro are also there. There is good shopping and a huge mall very closeby as well. Just be warned there are a lot of homeless people in Tenderloin where... More

Thanks for this. We do actually have hooks on the back panels of the bunk beds! Maybe you missed them or maybe the bed was oriented incorrectly. Also, fans are available for guests upon request at the front desk. If you come again, let us know and we'll lend you one! Thanks again. -Andy, Assistant General Manager More

I've stayed in several hostels across the US,but I have to say Hi SF was a disappointing experience. The location was great and the staff was friendly, but that's about it. I stayed in a female dorm for 5 nights . There was no air conditioner so we had to sleep with the windows open, which made the room very... More

I'm sorry you were disappointed with your experience. We do have organic fruit at our breakfast every day, so I'm concerned that this was not available to you during your stay. I will try to figure out was happened here. Our lockers can be difficult, but we found that it was the only solution for being able to lock large... More

You can't beat this place for location. 5 mins from Powell and Market St - gives you great access to transport (cable car, bart, streetcars), there is even a bike hire place up the road for (the obligatory) ride over the bridge. Staff were helpful and friendly - checking in at 3pm does take a little while - they have... More

Stayed here with my Girl Scouts. The 3 person rooms were great. Beds very comfortable. Bathrooms very clean. Breakfast was bagels and fruit. Coffee and juice. Front desk was very informative and quite helpful. Great location, right near Powell-Mason cable car line and 2 blocks from the BART. No need for a car when staying here. Girls had a great... More

We stayed here for four nights. The hostel staff were super friendly and helpful answering our many questions. The rooms were small but comfortable. We had a 4 bed dorm it was warm but that was nice because despite it being the middle of summer SF was chilly! Breakfast was basic bagels and juice and some oatmeal. Was nice not... More

Had a private room. Queen bed with private bathroom . Great staff. Checkin could be looked at and made earlier. Complimentary bagels in the morning was good but if you not in the kitchen by 7.30 am , don't expect to get any. My advice would be to get up early and get your breakfast bagels etc. store it with... This hostel is in a convenient location just 3 minutes walking distance from Union Square. Staff is very friendly and the atmosphere is very nice. We stayed in a private ensuite room, for which we paid a very attractive price considering this is downtown San Francisco. We didn't expect housekeeping in a hostel, but our beds were made every day.... More
