The Inn is so warm and welcoming. The location cannot be beat. The staff is very helpful. The rooms are so comfortable and well appointed. The Presidio is the secret treasure of San Francisco. We have stayed twice and cannot wait to go back.
This historic inn is very well maintained, with very helpful staff members. The rooms have 12 foot ceilings and large windows, with excellent air flow. the bathroom was huge. the bed was very comfortable. having free breakfast and a happy hour of wine and cheese every day was wonderful. this location is great: very quiet, with lots of historic areas, nature, hiking trails and close to the bay. this is a hidden treasure in San Fran. Highly recommmended.
The Inn at The Presidio is by far the best place to stay while visiting San Francisco because it’s like staying at an estate in a park that provides you the luxury of being surrounded by walking trails, green therapy of trees and plants, and wonderful bird sounds. Only minutes away from a big city.
It was New Year's Eve. After many hours of driving I found myself in a faceless endless dark storage unit to near the airport. Then with way too much stuff all over the car... I am trying to drive and wait on hold for fed ex to ship I need to ship all my camping gear home, my brain hurts, and I hear crunch as the back of my renta car magically hits one of those invisible poles in the Fed Ex parking lot. GRUMBLE when did I last eat? Tears stain my dirty face. San Francisco was under lock down and there wasn't food to be found. I find the address of the Inn at the Presidio and aim my heart and my car north. IN the last few blocks before the Inn I actually smell the trees again and it becomes quiet. I was so dirty that, I didn't want to come in the front door. I called the front desk. They convince me that I am very welcome and check me in.. without judgement or shame. It is COVID and SF is a hot spot. A building that is perfect for COVID plus all the windows open and the Inn was mostly empty. The gal at the Front Desk treated me with so much kindness; I wanted to cry. The Inn was old and dreamy and lovely in all the right ways. Interesting old art on the walls, and Not such interesting new Art on the wall, but a big desk for writing, big closets for storage. Quiet and wide like going back in time. Outdoor fire-pit. Hiking trails from the back door that go all the way to the ocean. The windows open onto the park, the fireplace worked, the room smelled like trees and fresh air and healthy no deodorizers or chemical cleaners. I am poor, its unlikely that I will ever stay in an Inn again in San Francisco. I usually sleep on a friends couch. This will be remembered as one of my favorite Covid moments and the beginning of a better brighter year !2021. Only thing to improve was food quality... it was only ok... maybe this was because of supply and COVID. Plenty of food came with the meals and delivered to my room, but I am one of those health nuts who likes organic Oat milk and gluten free chocolate cake. It was fine but more normal American food than something super healthy. But seriously, I wish I could live here. and PS the bathwater was hot and the bathrobe so yummy. The bed firm and big enough for three families. the Radio alarm clock could dim, had a real radio and connected to my phone. I felt like there must be some portal here I had ducked through to San Francisco circa 1900.…
We (and our four-legged family member) had a wonderful week at the Inn. The room was spacious and everyone on staff could not have been nicer. It's lovely to walk outside and take advantage of all the Presidio has to offer. Thank you!
