LUMA Hotel San Francisco garners acclaim for its modern and stylish vibe, with many guests lauding the clean, well-equipped rooms boasting comfortable beds and impressive views. The hotel's location is celebrated for its closeness to attractions and transit, despite some finding it a tad distant from downtown.
Unique amenities, such as rooftop dining and robot room service, enhance the guest experience, although the high cost of parking during events has been noted as detracting from the hotel's overall value.

I booked this hotel as the first leg of a West coast road trip and I wasn’t disappointed.
Spotlessly clean, huge beds that are super comfortable. Lovely bathrooms with automatic low level lighting that comes on during the night which was great as we have kids so when they got up in the night they could find their way to the toilet.
Was also impressed that the coffee machine had pods of English breakfast tea - being from the UK I always struggle to find this in hotels so I was really pleasantly surprised by this, a real win for me.
The gym is well equipped although a bit too warm. Also the restaurant above the hotel is absolutely gorgeous, the food is awesome if you like Mexican food and it was one of the nicest Margaritas I’ve ever had.
The only downside of this hotel is the location is a little bit off the beaten track, you need to get the tram to pretty much anywhere - it’s not too far to Union Square and easy enough to navigate but it’s not near very much aside from the Giants stadium. But had this hotel been more central I suspect it would have also been double the price!
Highly recommend this hotel, you won’t be disappointed.

The entire place was spotless and looked very modern and new. The staff were very friendly and also very helpful. One of the coolest experiences at any hotel was had here! Or DoorDash delivery was brought to our room by a robot! That’s right, a robot…. It was timely in its delivery from the front desk and it kept our cold food cold and our hot food hot…. So neat!
We get to the room and it’s very nice inside. The windows had electric window covers, with one being blackout, which my wife loved. There was a Keurig pod coffee maker in the room, and they gave you couple of options of coffee and tea.
We also liked the fact they had a reusable glass water bottle and a filtered water dispenser with the ice machine, very cool in my opinion. Can’t say I’ve ever seen that before.
The bed was comfortable and the pillows were ok. My wife thought they were great but they were a little soft for my liking, but still nice. The TV didn’t have a lot of channels but they had a cool feature to cast your streaming services from your phone, so we enjoyed a couple of movies for our quiet night and next morning.
The gym was spacious and clean with a lot of options. I was really impressed with the variety of free weights and machines to choose from.
We ate dinner at Cavaña which is in the hotel, and had very tasty food at reasonable prices. I thought the drinks were a little overpriced but they were delicious and the view of the city was fantastic.
1000% recommend this hotel to anyone adventuring to San Francisco

I was in SF on a last minute business trip. Needed a hotel within walking distance to the Chase Center. I chose the Luma, and I certainly was happy I did. The receptionist staff were extremely kind, as I mentioned I was working graveyard shifts, they upgraded and placed me in a room in the back corner higher floor away from the light rail noise.
The room was very state of the art, with a large shower and LED fixtures throughout. I usually bring a plug in wall adapter for my electronics, but there was so many USB and power plugs everywhere , it wasn’t needed. Room has a small fridge which works amazing, but there was no microwave which would have been nice. The tv in the room was massive and easy to find channels that provide local programming. I’m not a coffee drinker, but noticed a card on the table that says a robot will deliver coffee, tea or other beverages to your room for no extra cost. How unique is that?
Before heading to work, I decided to grab a quick bite to eat from the rooftop lounge area located on the 17th floor that can only be accessed by controlled elevator in the valet area. The menu was unique with a Latin based flavor of items. I decided on the fried boneless chicken thighs that had a wonderful crisp texture and delicious sauce. The lounge area has an amazing view of the SF skyline and waterfront area near Oracle Park.
When I came back to hotel after a 12 hour shift, darkness and peace and quiet was the only thing on my mind. (I did stop by a little cafe in the lobby that has breakfast sandwiches and wraps and had a delicious quick bite). Everything in the room including the shades on the window and the bathroom are electric. I like to sleep in a cold dark room and the AC was running perfectly for that. It does have somewhat of a loud airflow noise, but I enjoyed the ambient white noise it had, and I slept for an undisturbed 8 hours of rest.
If you’re looking for an upscale, but not overly priced hotel close to everything that is reasonably within walking distance, look no further than the LUMA. It’s definitely my go to the next time I’m in SF.

My wife and I stayed here for two nights for a concert at Chase Center and a Giants game at Oracle. The room rate was considerably higher than rooms in Union Square--but you have absolutely none of the ick factor that's going on up there.
All we can say is WOW. The hotel and rooms are amazing!! We had their most basic room which was actually a little larger than some of the other SF hotels we have stayed in. The bed & sheets were AMAZING!! Silky smooth fresh sheets on a firm super-comfortable mattress. My wife is very sensitive to scratchy sheets, bleach etc--she wanted to know how they wash their sheets because they smelled fresh but had no fragrance and were so smooth. The same went for the towels in the bathroom. Housekeeping was provided daily and the room was spotless.
We really liked the dim ambient lighting in the bathroom at night as well as the large window during the day. The TV is huge and there was also a good sized desk.
The front desk was very helpful in arranging drycleaning after someone spilled all over me at the concert. The french cleaners got the stain out and saved my favorite jacket --I had only worn it out a few times!
The rooftop restaurant/bar is really cool. It's not typical in SF. I wish we had more time to hang out there but we had plans both nights.
We'll definitely check out their other properties now that we stayed at the one in our own backyard.

I made a last minute decision to stay at LUMA, and I’m so glad I did. I am admittedly very picky when it comes to hotels, especially around cleanliness and noise. This hotel was a dream from the moment I arrived. The staff at the front desk went above and beyond to accommodate my preferences, kindly grabbed me a fruit infused water while I checked in, and made me feel so welcome.
The room exceeded my expectations. It was as impeccably clean, modern, and the technology features are such a treat. The floor is not carpeted, which means it’s actually cleanable, and they provide robes and slippers. Everything is automated on switches for ease of use and comfort. I am so grateful I chose to stay here and would highly recommend it, especially for the most sensitive and discerning travelers. I have really high standards and I’m usually disappointed by hotels, but there is nothing I would change about LUMA!

This hands down has to be one of the best hotels I have ever stayed at. The cleanliness of the hotel as a whole was fabulous. The coffee and pastries in the ground floor cafe were very taste and what impressed the most was the kindness and friendliness of all the hotel workers. We stayed at the hotel from the 03 of Jan 24 to the 07 of Jan 24 INITIALLY…. The hotel is extremely close to the Chase Center (home of the Golden State Warriors) and is the main reason we booked the hotel in the first place. After every game the employees are ready for the increased arrival of guests. They all friendly greet the guests and hold open the elevators to promptly get the guests from the lobby to their rooms.
From disaster to dream day: On the 7th of Jan a Boing 737 Max 9 door plug fell off the Alaska Airline Plane. Luckily without casualties!! All Boing 737 Max 9 planes were grounded. Including our plane from SFO to JFK. We were stranded. The rebooking to an Airbus via American Airlines was to leave the following morning. We grabbed our bags and took an Uber back to the Luma Hotel in hopes that they would help us. And boy did they! We were greeted by the assistant manager who sorted out EVERYTHING! My Kredit card was over the daily limit after booking the flight and he had a solution for every problem and went above and beyond to help us out. We refused to let this disaster ruin our trip and bought last minute tickets to that nights Warriors game (sadly lost) and had a great last evening in San Francisco. Really looking forward to booking here again when I fly over for warriors games.

I stayed here for 15 nights, so I feel pretty well qualified to write this review. The hotel opened in July 2022, so it’s perfectly clean and well designed. An excellent size bathroom and a bright, roomy bedroom make staying in very comfortable and peaceful. I appreciated the motorised blockout blinds. The staff were terrific and a lovely supermarket is about 30 metres away. Walking distance to the the Chase Center (go Warriors!) and Oracle Park. I always felt safe and I was happy to walk alone at night (yes, I’m a woman). It’s a very safe area without the chaos of downtown. If you’re joining day tours, you’ll have to make the journey downtown, but I found the feeling of safety outweighed the slight annoyance of having to spend time travelling. There’s a train that passes the door, and lots of bus routes a few blocks away. I would like a coffee maker in the room, that’s my only gripe. The cafe downstairs is great, but at A$11 per coffee, it’s not something you want to use very often. Thanks Luma staff for a great stay.

I have stayed at this hotel several times now. It’s my go to for all things SF (personal trips and medical alike). The hotel is always clean. Staff is always happy to help with anything you need and if you look even remotely lost they ask if you need anything. They have an easy to access valet system for parking your vehicle. And best of all they have delivery robots! So if you forget your toothbrush or you have DoorDash in the lobby, the robot brings it up to you. It’s delightful.

This was our second time staying at Hotel Luma; both times going to a SF Giants game. From the moment you drive in you are treated with the utmost in customer service. The Hotel Luma staff are extremely courteous, friendly and go above and beyond in ensuring your stay is enjoyable. We were treated like royalty. We stayed in the Premier room with our view overlooking the Port of San Francisco/San Francisco Bay. The rooms are quiet; equipped with light filtering and room darkening shades; 65" TV screen; refrigerator and a spacious shower with dual shower heads and wands. The bedding is luxurious, so much so that I have ordered the pillows we had during our stay (Down Etc). The location is perfect for going to a SF Giants game. Oracle Park is minutes away from the hotel and within walking distance to the Chase Center. Hotel Luma is the only place we will stay when coming back to San Francisco. Thank you Hotel Luma for epitomizing excellence in customer service!
