This hotel fit the bill for our 4 night stay in San Francisco. We wanted to be near the “sights”, but we didn’t want to pay through the nose for our accommodation. This hotel has a very good location – close to shops, restaurants, not far from Chinatown and close to the bus stop for the weekend bus service across... More

This place is really convenient. You do have to walk up a crazy steep slope in order to get to it, but it's in such a central location! The rooms are also much bigger than the other hotels I've stayed in SF. It has that old , 1940s boarding school kind of feel. The breakfast and wifi isn't much to... More

We stayed for 3 nights and for the price (on the less expensive side for San Fran) it was overall a good experience and would stay again purely for location and price. The rooms had old looking carpet and the beds look oldish/soft BUT the beds were actually more comfortable than they look! The bathroom in the room had been... More

This is a very basic and dated hotel but economical, clean and comfortable. It is located central to San Fran near union square. Please note that this is a hill climb from the Bart Station. We were fortunate enough that our room was ready and we were allowed to check in quite early with no hassle or additional charge. They... More

A very nice location for this hotel, not so far from the "famous" tram's station. Easy to reach from the metro, not so far from the main street... I walked in 5 minutes to Chinatown too... Rooms are fine, the breakfast in the average... and the staff helpful. A good idea to discover SF and to stay on the city... More

Not that there's many bad things to say about the hotel it's just there's not much good to be said about it either. My view is sometimes clouded by the good time that I had in San Francisco but when I really think about the Grant Hotel it will only rate as OK in my mind. The rooms were very... More

This hotel was ideal for a few days exploring SF. It was easy to find from the airport and very close to union square. There is a cable car stop right outside but also a bus stop at the next junction. Really well located for exploring and pretty much walkable to most attractions also. The rooms were fine, big enough... More

This was a fine choice for the money and the location was worth it alone. Rooms were fine if basic and the breakfast was great if you like pastries. the staff were friendly enough though some had limited English. Would recommend as a base to explore the city.

I'm the kind who is realistic - what you pay is what you get (or expect to get), so The Grant Hotel does meet my expectations as a budget hotel in San Francisco. The room is small but sufficient for 2 persons, and the place is clean. There is a view of the next building out of the window which... More

This a very clean hotel with large rooms. The parking is across the street, pay for it with your room. Morning coffee and donuts. The best thing is that it is next to one of the best sushi bars (Tony's sushi). If you were just going by the price, this hotel would be a 5
