I recently found a place with great history, great customer service, great food, and overall great place to be. The moment one walks in history is displayed on the walls and on every floor. The hotel offers a daily happy hour and the breakfast is included with each stay (yummy). The hotel has a small gym but with all those hills in San Fran one can definitely get a workout in. There are special prices for members (strongly recommend) and active duty members can join as members for free. There are some rooms available for general public. Definitely worth checking out especially since there is reciprocity with other clubs all over the world.
I was blown away by every aspect of the Marine’s Memorial hotel in San Francisco. We booked on the lower price range of SF hotels, but honestly, this feels like a five star hotel (in fact, it’s better than many five star hotels I’ve stayed in). The staff are exceptionally friendly, helpful, and nice to talk to. The rooms are lovely - cleans, new, solid furniture, and a big comfortable bed. There is a top floor bar with amazing views over the city, which has a FREE happy hour 4-6pm for guests EVER DAY. There are self service laundry facilities for guests, free breakfast… I could go on. The location is perfect for a trip to San Francisco - just around the corner from Union Square, and a short walk to China Town, Nob Hill, and other neighbourhoods. Finally the hotel is run as a non-profit, and the military theme as fascinating (I learnt a lot just browsing the cabinets in the lobby). It is so refreshing compared to the corporate blandness of many hotels. If you are planning a trip to San Francisco, STAY HERE!!…
Marines Memorial Club made our San Francisco trip all the more enjoyable. It is close to all the major landmarks, like Union Square, Chinatown, Pier 39, the Mission marketplace, Golden Gate Park and more. The location is within minutes of walking or driving. We did not have trouble navigating the city from where we stayed. The hotel itself, including the staff, were very much accommodating to my family and friends. There was complimentary breakfast and happy hour drinks, both terrific and pleasing for our taste. Thank you to Sarge, Yoli, Bertha, Gabby, Mimi, John, Manolo, and countless others. Your service was amazing! I know we'll be staying here again next time in the City!
What a find! A great hotel in a perfect location for exploring San Francisco. 5 minute walk to Union Square and cable cars. Comfy room, attentive and friendly staff and super breakfast included in the price. Happy to help the Marines as well.
If I told you that the venue was KEY to the success of a conference, what would you think? This place is the real deal. Awesome customer service to the organizing team, the guests are so happy, the food was so good and we always felt more like FAMILY than clients. I cannot recommend this venue more...it meant the difference between our event's success and failure and we are so happy we chose to conduct this event here...after months of planning and so many people coming from around the world, it was a huge hit. Everyone felt safe, comfortable, well fed and loved. Seriously, this venue ROCKS. Thank you to Miss Milen and her whole team that made the impossible possible..!
My husband & I stayed for a week with our three children in room 403 in a suite. It was quite large. Large queen size pull out sofa and a rollaway bed in on one side for the kids & and we were able to have our own space. It was walking distance to everything and I felt very safe. The added bonus was how beautiful the hotel is & the history attached to it. Gorgeous libraries and drawing rooms. The other bonus is that breakfast is included in the price and is a good breakfast six choices. There’s also a complementary happy hour on their rooftop restaurant. The staff were very welcoming. The price was right for a family of five to stay in San Francisco for sure. I highly recommend it
Even though the Marines Memorial Club and Hotel discontinued its over-the-top breakfast buffet and temporarily closed its fitness facility due to the COVID 19 pandemic reequirements, it is still a good hotel value. The hotel still provides a complementary plated breakfast with enough variety to satisfy most morning tastes and the spectacular view from its 12th floor dining is still there. The complementary happy hour in the bar is also still there. Most all, many of the excellent staff remain.
I came here for a business trip, it's a well run place in a very good location. Always stay here when coming to San Fran. Breakfast, rooms, service all very good. Also a very interesting history of the marine corps.
I am a longtime member and guest for over 40 years. It just keeps improving with frequent upgrades and updates. Within walking distance of the swankiest hotels of the city this place has the best prices in town. A great breakfast with a great view is a highlight as is the happy hour. Rooms are clean and adequate but not luxurious. Comfortable is the word for most rooms. There tends to be street noise early in the morning and parking is a half block away, Otherwise it is my favorite lodging in the heart of the city. The restaurant is also good for traditional American fare.
My college freshman daughter had never been to San Fran (I used to live there) and so we decided to take a chance and book (2 months ago) for this week. After booking, I had the absolute pleasure to speak with the GM, Sarge, about the hotel, possible upgrades, and the famous 3 resident bulldogs (it is, after all, a Marine Memorial Hotel). He was absolutely charming, answered all questions and suggested all sorts of awesome places in Chinatown. Last week I called him again in anticipation of our trip and he was so genuine withe me, telling e that Alcatraz was closed, indoor dining closed, bars closed, museums closed, etc. due to Covid. Although we had booked a non-refundable stay, he actually told me that he was going to cancel our booking at no charge/penalty and that he wanted to us to come back and visit when it was better/safer/more to do. That was such an amazingly kind gesture. He is the face of this hotel. He has been there for 17 years, he told me when we 1st spoke. And is former military. I can't speak any higher of the hotel and Sarge. I do know this - we WILL be visiting. And you couldn't pay me to book else. And we will be bringing bulldog treats :)…
