Spent 4 nights during Thanksgiving week at this wonderful hotel. The entire staff was welcoming and very accomodating. The room was exceptionally clean, comfortable and met our every need. The front desk has fresh baked cookies daily at 3:00pm, chocolate on your night stand each night and a light continental breakfast every morning. The hotel is located in a very...

My stay at the Inn was wonderful, It is a unique setting. All of the staff was friendly and very helpful. And I would recommend the Inn at the Opera to anyone looking for a location other then the Wharf. I stayed at a hotel at the Wharf in April this year, they had less to offer then this quaint...

We stayed at Inn at the Opera for 6 nights in October 2011. What a fantastic hotel. The reception area is lovely and open with some vintage touches. The elevator is gorgeous inside the walls are lined with red velvet and classical music is played. The room we stayed in was a perfect size. The two of us were more...

Got an amazing suite here for 99 dollars. Awesome room with living room.....kitchenette....dining table....comfy bed. Close to ballet and opera house and great restaurants. Bart isn't too far either...great breakfast. Would absolutely stay again..BTW avoid the standard rooms, I heard they are small as broom closets

At Civic Center in the middle of San Francisco--adjacent to Opera and Symphony halls, but, within walking distance of jazz at the Herbst, and free programs nearly daily at the S.F. Conservatory featuring students on their cutting edges of professional performance. Fantastic area for seniors with the availability of "Rush" tickets, (so reasonable) to great performances, and public transport within...

My wife and I often stay at the Inn at the Opera because of its location to some of our favorite sites in San Francisco, and also because of the friendliness, helpfulness, and efficiency of the staff. The building is remodeled, wi-fi capable, and furnished throughout with flat screen televisions - yet overall you experience the more refined, small-touch feel...

This hotel is simple but elegant. It feels like from another time. The service was exceptionally good while we were here. The staff was very friendly, including the room cleaners. The complimentary breakfast was simple but nice; the dining room itself has a lot of class. Actually, this place *feels* like it should be next to the Opera House, so...

It was meant to be. During the week of the Oracle convention in San Francisco, I was unable to find a room in any of my usual San Francisco haunts. Luckily, I found a room at this wonderful hotel, and I can recommend it without restraint. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. The room was small but extremely comfortable....

The rooms are lovely, clean and the beds are comfy. Service is personal and attentive. The neighborhood has a good variety of small, delicious restaurants in walking distance. In fact you can walk easily to a number of bus or street car stops to get anywhere in the city. If you want a smaller hotel that caters to adults, you...

Staying in Hayes Valley

Neighborhood Profile
Hayes Valley
Chock full of designer boutiques, art galleries, funky shoe stores, and great restaurants, it’s hard to imagine Hayes Valley once languished in the shadow of a major freeway. Its removal allowed for the creation of an attractive boulevard on Octavia Street with a community park at its center and dozens of trendy businesses to satisfy visitors looking for a stylish respite.
