We had an opportunity to see the SF Giants play at home and grabbed it! This hotel was recommended as it was close to the Park and nice. We checked in early...no problem, used valet parking (expensive but normal for SF), and unpacked. Before the gates opened, we got directions and made the simple walk to AT&T Park. Very close... The staff were a highlight here... Nothing too much for them, willing to help and just a delight to deal with. As a Gold MR member, I was given an upgrade, but no breakfast. Ohh well, can't win them all. Also, very hard to find food late night in the neighborhood, but not the hotel's fault. Will return!

Stayed here for sightseeing and ballgames at AT&T Park. Most sites are within walking distance: AT&T Park (10-12 minutes), Union Square (10 minutes), and for the hardy, even Fisherman's Wharf (45 minutes). If walking isn't your thing, the #8 bus is two blocks away and goes right to the Wharf, or the cable cars from Union Square will take you... More

The Good: Location! The location is great, in the heart of SF's South Beach / SoMa districts. I lived up the street for 5 years so I'm pretty familiar with the area. You're a short walk up Folsom to the Bay Bridge and the long Embarcadero walk. You're 2 blocks away from the MoMa and 3 from the Moscone center.... More

living in los angeles we love to visit san francisco once a year to root against the Giants. AT &T Park is the best ballpark in America, a great place to spend an evening, even if you're not a real baseball fan. Over the years i've become an advocate for the South of Market area (SOMA), close to the stadium,... More

We were on a 2 week adventure and needed to economize to stay within our vacay budget an decided upon Courtyard properties for the bulk of our trip. This property is a great choice if you want to be in Downtown SFO. If you aren't planning on hoofing it too much, its a mere 5 blocks (10 minute walk) to... More

We really enjoyed our stay at this hotel. The hotel is located about 3 blocks from downtown but it is an easy walk. The hotel is very well run. The staff is excellent. They are friendly and helpful. The buffet breakfast is extensive. We had a minor issue but it was quickly addressed by managers JT Voss and Dean Danielson.... More

To be fair, I'd like to give this hotel a 3.5 because it was above average but not "very good." Overall, it was an enjoyable stay. Good location. Very Clean. The room was quite large and VERY quiet which is huge plus in San Francisco. The downsides: The beds were too soft and not very comfortable. The closet was tiny... More

The location is great, the staff is cordial and efficient, the rooms are as expected. However there is major infrastructure and commercial construction going on all over which begins at 6 am and lasts until 8 pm. Light/late sleepers be warned!

Had to do some business at the Mexican Consulate. It is the closest hotel to the consulate. Everything was average, employees helpful, just way too expensive. I can spend a week on vacation in Mexico for one night in San Francisco. Valet parking $60.00 plus tax for one night

Staying in SoMa

Neighborhood Profile
SoMa
South of Market (SoMa), has an urban and sophisticated vibe, but you're more likely to find big nightclubs and lots of industrial loft residences than you are to find boutique shopping. Although it’s the epicenter for tech startups in the city, visitors will be able to do more than just business - museums, top quality restaurants, and the San Francisco Giants now call this neighborhood home. Most of its freeway-sized streets may not capture the same character as other neighborhoods in the city, but pockets of charm, like South Park, can still be found throughout its side streets.
