We stayed for one night and thank god it wasn't longer. The staff were not friendly, the room was outdated and smelled like my Nana's living room. The lamps even had some weird plastic coating on them like some old person's home. The shower was terrible, it was like someone spitting on you. The ice machine was two floors away... More

Everything was fine, except these two things: The wifi broke down quite often and it was hard to get connected again. There are soooo many homeless people around the lodge, they do nothing bad but I felt very uncomfortable every time I walked thrue a group of them.

Me and my cousin stayed here one night during our trip to California. The family who runs this hotel is extremely nice and helpful. The room is pretty bland but clean. It was perfect for us because it was really only used to sleep in. The area is not the best but if you figure out the bus system you... More

My husband and I stayed here for 4 nights in July and thought the accommodation was great for the price. The reception staff were always very friendly and helpful, giving us tips about not walking down Eddy Street, where to find good food places, and the best way to get into town. When the wi-fi was down in our rooms,... More

Hotel quite dated...very noisy overnight....however room clean and comfortable...bathroom quite small and needs updating.....owners very nice though..very helpful...but even they advised us against walking in immediate vicinity.....locals include many undesirables....so beware...was in a large group ,so no problems, but single travellers may feel uncomfortable....a cheaper hotel in a grubby location...but did the job...

Know that this is truly a 2-star hotel in the sense that there's no spa, no airport shuttle, no exercise room or business center. However, it is one of the best 2-star hotels and makes no pretenses about being more than a great budget option. Had 2 queens. The room was clean and smelled fine. Room service did a great... More

Have to say this place is great for ease of access to the centre of the city, not the best area but worth what we paid for our 2 nights. Staff helpful parking limited but we managed to park. Tram rides best in the afternoons as it is very busy first thing.

Everyone was soo friendly. The room was really really clean. The areas around the hotel is kind of scary, but well.. just need to avoid it. The bus drops you up just a cross the hotel. It was my first time in SF, so I really didn't know what to expect. For how expensive are other hotels in the bay,... More

Good hotel with friendly staff. But location is about 3 blocks inside not so friendlly area. Suggest to choose rather placemore to west closer to the ocean. Hotelitself was clean and quiet with parking.
