Perfect location for our four days in San Fransisco. Close to Union Square, nightlife and restaurants. Staff are very friendly and accommodating and were able to fit us in for an extra night as I wanted to stay on here rather than the hotel I had booked elsewhere. Small hotel with small rooms, some with private bathrooms, some shared, but... More

Our hosts were very friendly and helpful (told us breakfast places and which buses we needed to catch), we had a lovely room with comfortable bed. Lovely old building. Only thing we would say could be improved was the shower heat could do with being hotter. Not anything that would stop us from booking again though as we had a... More

Hi Katherine, thank you so much for your feedback. I am aware of the water that it could be hotter. This happened when i changed the water tank. I am still looking for a good plumber to fix it. One came and worked on it but unable to fix it the way i want. Will keep trying. I appreciate your... More

Ok. Stayed here for 5 nights and loved it soLet's clear a few things up. This is a two star budget hotel approx 200mts from the westin. If you want fancy doormen and glass elevators go to the Westin and pay for the privilege:). This unpretentious hotel is not the world's prettiest, it is about 10 mins walk from union... More

I stayed at Luz for four nights and didn't have any problems really. The rooms are a bit small but decent for the price and location. There are two bathrooms that are shared by all the rented rooms on the first floor; they were clean and I didn't have a problem getting one when I needed. The shower was different;... More

Thank you so much for your feedback. Because of that, the bed in that room was replaced a month ago by a bed called "heavenly sleeps" from a leading mattress store here in San Francisco. Our goal is to give our guest a good night rest so they can enjoy their day exploring our beautiful city and think of our... More

First of all, I am a resident of this hotel, one of the few. Mostly we get travellers and students from all over. The owner of this hotel has put a significant amount of work into this place, and has single handedly set a standard of gentrifying this neighborhood for the better. The location is the upper Tenderloin, so its... More

It makes me sad to review this hotel so badly because it's a small place and obviously family-run. But I WISH I'd known this before booking because staying here ruined part of my holiday. San Francisco was the first stop on our USA road trip and it's quite an expensive city - I was also looking for independent places to... More

Hi Alicia, I really felt bad for you and I'm so sorry that your vacation got ruined because of what happened. That was totally unexpected. Although we know that even one bedbug get in the room however it got there, it multiplies fast and you don't know when they will make the move to strike. We take this problem very... More

Given how expensive SF is and how much good downtown hotels are we were reasonably pleased with this place however, do not expect luxurious surroundings. We had a room with a bathroom and there is only a curtain to separate the two and quite literally, no room to stretch out. With two suitcases and travel bags the room then becomes... More

Hi Guys, thank you so much for your feedback. We know the room is small and actually it has a pocket door that now we made it much easier to open and close. We stayed here for 5 nights while in San Francisco. We chose it due to the good reviews and that it was so cheap in comparison to other hotels in the same area. The staff was very friendly and made me feel right at home. I was evenly surprised with the decor for my birthday. I would recommended this hotel and would stay here if i were to visit SFO again. Convenient location to the Cable Cars, Lombard Street, Fisherman's Wharf, Pier 39 and Union Square.
