The bed was very comfortable, the staff was very accommodating and pleasant. The location of the hotel wasn't too far from Union Square and Fisherman's Warf. We walked to both with no problem. The shampoo, conditioner, and soap dispensers in the shower were empty.

There are some very mixed reviews about this place but I honestly say it was a great stay. You need to walk out of the hotel make a left and cross to the right at the lights past the hilton to avoid the main tenderloin area. It's full of homeless and can be quite unnerving when just landing in the... More

We had a great stay. We booked early and got a great rate for a holiday weekend. The building is beautiful and renovated nicely to keep the 20's originality alive. Don't be picky. If you can't take street noise, thin walls and the small elevator GO STAY IN A NEW BUILDING. The renovations in the lobby were not finished but... More

Never had such terrible service in all my life. The hotel was (may still be) undergoing major renovations when we were staying at the beginning of August. When you face the hotel it had scaffolding up at the front which we had to step over to get into the hotel. Where reception is the left hand side was all cordoned... More

We checked in late to the hotel and the woman at the front desk urged us to valet our car. The rooms were nice and we were pleasantly surprised with the Malin + Goetz soaps and shampoos!!! The downside was that the hotel was under construction. And because the of the construction there wasn't much to the hotel - I'm... More

Good hotel, close to union square and all the public transport to get around. Good location for shopping or just people watching. I could just walk around. Close to eating places. Love Pakwaan for Indian food. Starbucks is right around the corner. Good service in the hotel. They are not in your face and get things done. Very friendly and... More

Nice front desk employees, loved the bed, centralized location. There is a Breakfast place right next door, a convenience store in the corner of the block and Walgreens another block away. We walked to the fisherman's wharf( not an easy walk, but good work out for your legs :)) The hotel valet is very expensive. If in mood for pizza... More

Overall, the Hotel Mark Twain in San Francisco was quite good, with a good location near Union Square, however is hampered by the construction going on. Check in was a little brief, with no mention of any breakfast, despite there seeming being breakfast on the street. The rooms have been renovated in a style unique to anything else we'd experienced... More

The hotel itself was actually pretty good, the staff were great and the room was cosy, there is a valet service with a parking garage nearby, the only downfall really is the location being a bit of a walk away from the main sights and quite a few homeless around but its not entirely fair to judge the hotel on...
