Very nice hotel located right in the thick of things in Union Square. Cable car outside your door. Walgreen and Starbucks across the street. Walk 1/3 block to Sears Fine Food Cafe for best breakfast in San Francisco. Several other places to eat nearby. Dining in the hotel is good with friendly service. Ordered Room Service breakfast twice and arrived...

If there is one thing I dislike 100%, that's being under-considered when I pay such a price for a hotel night: I arrived from Europe at the Marriott Union Square friday 24th october end of afternoon, after I booked a room for two nights on the 16th. The guy at the counter started explaining it was going to be tricky...

Thank you for taking time to write about your experience at our hotel. I apologize for the less than acceptable service and responses you received. This is clearly not the standard for which Marriott is so well known. I hope you will give us another opportunity in the future to allow to make amends. Sincerely, Oscar R. General Manager

This hotel is in a great location. There is a Starbucks across the street and a Walgreen's (24 hr) on the corner. It's one block from Union Square tour bus pick ups and the Macy's building (aka where Cheesecake Factory is). Another block down the street is the trolley stop for the historical trolley/tram and a mall with good shops,...

As blocked rooms were quickly gone for Dreamforce, rates were 283% than normal. UGH. I grinned and bore it; I could not miss this business opportunity. In any case, all other hotels were also charging nearly TRIPLE the normal rates. The doormen and bellhops provided excellent, attentive and friendly service on every occasion for directions, help with luggage, and booking...

Great place to stay. Stayed on the 15th of October 2014. Very pricy for one night ($400.00 plus). At that price one would think Wi-Fi would be free of charge, but no - 12.95 per day. Come on guys, is this really necessary. I stayed at much cheaper hotels than this and had free Wi-Fi. Why must you empty everyone's...

The hotel staff was great - friendly & helpful. The bar was ok (no draft beers) The rooms were modern & comfortable. But i guess what got me was poor wifi- aside from getting charged - every time i'd use either a new device (iPad vs computer vs smartphone) had to go thru what felt like the full log in...

Someone broke into our room and stole my wallet and backpack. Hotel security kept saying that I lost these items and they considered them only "missing". They suggested that we look behind the curtains and under the beds. They refused to belief us and treated us like we were making this up when clearly it was theft. Even the housekeeping...

Spent several nights here on business. Found the hotel to be a nice place to stay. It's far enough up the Powell St hill to be away from the intensity of the crowds closer to Union Sq and Market St. But it's close enough to easily walk to Union Sq and everything around it. My room had a nice bay...

I visited SF to attend the Giants play off game. This was the first time I stayed at this hotel and was very pleased with the location, rooms, food and service. I would recommend the concierge level as it provides breakfast in the morning, snacks, soda, juice water and coffee during the entire day and non-hosted alcoholic beverages in the...

If you need or want to stay near Union Square, the San Francisco Marriott is one of several choices. It has little else to recommend it. The rack rate is off the edge: $850 a night. For that you get a good-sized room that is without a fridge or microwave and that has the stingiest array of toiletries I've seen...

Thank you for staying with us and providing comments about your stay. I apologize the guestroom did not meet your expectations. I appreciate the feedback. On another note, based on customer research and feedback, Marriott has replaced one bar of soap with body wash. Sincerely, Oscar R. General Manager
