The stay was pleasant. For the price it was a nice, decent room. The front desk staff was very helpful and polite. She helped us with directions to local attractions and provided us with many dining and tour options. Continental breakfast was ok with muffins, coffee oj etc. Parking was a plus. The distance to many local attractions and public... More

We recently stayed at this hotel for two nights leading up to Christmas. We had stayed here before 18 months earlier and found it to be fantastic. The place was clean the young couple running it friendly, pleasant and extremely helpful. Oh how things can change! This time there was no friendly couple but a older man with no obvious... More

This was the worse. Our room was extremely small, the shower door had no handle, the telephone didn't work for all four days we stayed there, and the hotel staff was rude. They tried to charge us full book price - lucky I printed out my reservation confirmation. Parking is handy, but the spaces are very narrow, so if you... More

The moment I walked into the reception area of this little hotel, I was put off by the rude and unfriendly lady behind the counter. Not one salutation, not even a hello. After we were issued card keys for the room, she then proceeded to take my Visa, charge $25.00, and after asking her for an explanation, she rudely said... More

The area is close to the fisherman wharf, however, that is not a very safe neighborhood. We have lived in the Inn for 3 nights, and our car window has been smashed and our GPS stolen at the Inn's parking lot. We are not the only victim, there's another car in the hotel and another 3 cars in the nearby... More

I chose the Francisco Bay because it locates near the Fisherman warf with free parking space, and affordable price. I have made reservation through hotels.com and already paid for the whole cost with email confirming my reservation. At the time I checked in, the fron desks said "we don't have your reservation and there is no room available!!" They said... More

We could not have been happier with this hotel. The room was small but ample room to move around. We took full advantage of the coffee-pot, microwave and fridge in the room. From the time we registered to checking out we couldn't have been happier. Very helpful people in getting directions to everywhere we wanted to go. The room was... More

Here is the good, the bad, and the ugly. We stayed for four nights, but moved the third night to a back room because of the noise. THE GOOD: Meticulously clean. We're walkers, and the location was perfect walking distance to Fisherman's Wharf, Fort Mason, Lombard hill. The location is also near bus line #30, which goes past many great... More

Only stay in this hotel if you can sleep through extremely loud traffic noise. Located on one of the main routes through San Francisco, at a set of traffic lights: traffic roared, engines revved and horns were honked though most of the night. Made of clap board it had very little sound insulaton which did not help. Although the location... More

Hotels in SF are expensive! In fact, it comes as no surprise to anyone that the general COST LEVEL in SF is high; but at about $150/night, this hotel is just not worth it! No closet in the room. An air conditioner that sounds like a jet engine (on low!!!). Slivers of soap that remind one of what you get... More

Staying in Marina District

Neighborhood Profile
Marina District
Beautiful homes, beautiful people, and a beautiful backdrop of the Golden Gate Bridge welcome visitors to the Marina. Originally the location for the Panama-Pacific International Exposition in 1915 (whose remnants can be seen at the Palace of Fine Arts), much of the land was filled and flattened to accommodate a world’s fair. That ample space has given way to a jogger’s paradise at the northern edge of the city. With the picturesque bay setting as its backdrop, it’s no surprise that the area has hosted numerous movie productions. Daytime activities focus on café culture and boutique shopping, while the evenings turn this neighborhood into a party-going hotspot.
