Me and my sister stayed here for two nights. All of the furniture was pretty old. We were in a six bed mixed dorm. Had no problems it is in walking distance of most of the sights- we were told it was in a bit of a dodgy area but we didn’t see anything that would make us think that?... More

I loved staying here. It was charming and homey. I think a lot of people book here not knowing the difference between a hotel and a hostel. Look into it before staying. If you need amenities outside of WiFi then stay elsewhere.

It is a very good option, The location is very good, you can walk to the union square where you can do all the shopping that you want. It smelled like pee at the lobby, but well, when you pay this amount you dont expect ir to be perfect. I would stay here again.

The rooms and bathroom are very clean. I also enjoyed the free make your own pancakes and coffee for breakfast. Met some cool people from around the world too. I liked the location on Lower Nobb Hill. Very safe and close to everything. I intend to stay here again.

This I'd say is a reasonable price for San Fran which is a very expensive city. Hostel was not impressive looking, a bit old and run down in most rooms. Beds comfy enough so thats good! Didn't seem like there was any A.C, rooms were very warm! Location wise it's approximately a 10/15 minute walk from the train station which... More

Location was the best thing! Close to everything. The room was big enough. Hotel itself was a bit old - the carpets were dirty, in the room and outside the room. The breakfast - you could do your own pancakes - you had to wait in line quite a bit and there was not enough places to eat.

It's basic yeah but really good value for SF hotels considering how expensive it is. Great location close to Union Square, free make your own pancakes for breakfast, free wi-fi, clean bathrooms. The place could do with a bit of a revamp, seems worn and old fashioned but I think that's part of it's charm. No lift too so if... More

The three of us (a girl and two guys) spent 4 nights here in September of 2015. It might seems a bit pricey for a hostel but if you compare the prices of the San Francisco accomodations in general and consider the great location of this one then you'll soon realise that Amsterdam Hostel is one of the best choices... I went here with two of my friends in February for a city trip. The location of the hostel is great, the rooms are clean and the price is good (students...) too! I'd recommend this hostel to enjoy beautiful San Fran!
