Designed to celebrate California's lively culture, the Hotel Del Sol is a cheerful explosion of the West Coast spirit. Once a 50s-style motor lodge, it has been newly transformed to offer the stylings and personalized service of a boutique hotel. The spacious guestrooms evoke the bright and airy interior of a California beach house. Relaxing hammocks, a sparkling pool and towering palm trees in the courtyard is a colorful feast for the eyes.

Relaxing, chic and perfect location. Carrie at the front desk went above and beyond for our 10 year anniversary. Highly recommend staying here. The living room was nicely decorated and the bed was comfy. We felt right at home.

Pros: A happy hotel with hammocks outside & bright walls inside. The showers included wall mounts of soap, shampoo, and conditioner, eliminating plastic waste. The hotel was within walking distance to so many places. The beds were comfortable. We enjoyed our stay. Con: Breakfast was disappointing. The pastries looked like supermarket pastries wrapped in plastic. Also, no soap for the sink. Putting a wall mount here would really, really help.

I would improve breakfast quality to include good coffee with milk or cream. Fruit and yogurt that has low sugar and no artificial flavors. Hard boiled eggs would be a good option. Room and parking were excellent

Zero stars. Hotel death threats came through at 5am on the hotel phone. Turns out only hotel guests can call other guests. Management didn’t help or provide safety or solutions. Threw their hands in the air “other hotel guests, we cannot prevent this”. Unreal. Police came twice to help. Cars broken into on property (under the rooms)- multiple!!!! To be clear, the cars were broken into ON PROPERTY. Because this hotel lacks accountability and their internal staff are awful they will try to convince you it is in their “overflow lot” but it wasn’t. We personally experienced it. Turns out people were slitting the screens and staying illegally in their rooms, opening the doors from the inside after slitting the screens of the windows next door to the doors. The threats were for death, nothing to joke about at 5am on the morning! Beware. You are not safe, and hotel is not clean! Management does not care about your safety. DO NOT STAY HERE. There are many neighbors in the SF Marina who have personally seen the decline of this hotel, which is more like a motel. Be safe everyone.

The Hotel is great and the people that work there are just wonderful. I like the location so it is easy to get around San Francisco area. I like that it is dog friendly. My room was nice and big and I had a good night sleep.
