Very nice motel with very nice and helpful staff. There was crusty old bread under our TV table but other than that everything was great! The front desk was very helpful giving us ideas of things to do and where to eat. The breakfast served in the morning was perfect.

Stayed here for 3 nights, the hotel is really nice - the rooms are clean and tidy and the location is perfect. The hotel is minutes from shops and restaurants, and is within walking distance of fishermans wharf. The staff are friendly and helpful, I would definitely recommend staying here.

We booked this hotel because it sells itself as being “kid friendly”. We were travelling with our 14 month old toddler. It’s hard work travelling with a toddler and so we were very much looking forward to staying somewhere where our needs as parents and our child’s needs had been considered. Unfortunately, this was not the case. Whilst it is... More

While we had a perfectly fine stay at the hotel this is not a boutique hotel and should not be billed that way. It is an updated motor lodge from the 1950's with all the kitsch that comes with that era of lodging. If you're looking for a cheap no frills option that is a long walk/short uber ride to... More

The hotel is a great place to stay when in San Francisco. It is very close to local restaurants and amenities. The hotel staff are friendly and willing to assist. We spent 6 nights and are satisfied with the services. A budget hotel yet decent!!

This is a quaint boutique hotel reminiscent of the 1950's. There were fresh baked cookies ready when I checked in at 3pm. On this stay, I was upgraded to a suite. A compliment split of Red Wine, chocolates and a personalized note was waiting for me upon arrive to my room (It pays to be a rewards member) We loved... More

I had read that Joie de Vivre hotels were quirky and interesting so I figured it would be a fun departure from your typical mid-price hotel. In fact, this one IS quirky. Lots of bright, bold colors in both the exterior spaces and the room interiors. However, I wouldn't say that the quirkiness brings it to the level of "interesting."... More

Stop number 7 for us & one of our favourite hotels from the trip. Ok, not the cheapest maybe but well situated in SF for those with younger children aswell as having facilities geared around them too. We chose the Marina district as I'd read it was preferable for those visiting with young children than say, the Tenderloin district. It... More

Suitable for families when checking out San Francisco. Comfortable and friendly hotel, freshly baked cookies at 3pm and a heated pool was a great bonus! A bit on the expensive side but I still think that it's worth the money, San Francisco isn't cheap...

Staying in Marina District

Neighborhood Profile
Marina District
Beautiful homes, beautiful people, and a beautiful backdrop of the Golden Gate Bridge welcome visitors to the Marina. Originally the location for the Panama-Pacific International Exposition in 1915 (whose remnants can be seen at the Palace of Fine Arts), much of the land was filled and flattened to accommodate a world’s fair. That ample space has given way to a jogger’s paradise at the northern edge of the city. With the picturesque bay setting as its backdrop, it’s no surprise that the area has hosted numerous movie productions. Daytime activities focus on café culture and boutique shopping, while the evenings turn this neighborhood into a party-going hotspot.

Designed to celebrate California's lively culture, the Hotel Del Sol is a cheerful explosion of the West Coast spirit. Once a 50s-style motor lodge, it has been newly transformed to offer the stylings and personalized service of a boutique hotel.
