Location was great for public transport into Pier area, and only a $10 taxi ride if you prefer the convenience. The front desk were helpful and pleasant, local knowledge on bus routes and dining was useful. Lots of places to eat close by, excellent breakfast at Home Plate only 5 minutes away. We had a corner room with 2 Queen...

We enjoyed our stay at the Chelsea. We choose this hotel because of the free parking and it was located near some of the attractions we had planned. The area seems safe and the hotel seemed secure. I can see that it would be quite noisy on the weekends.

This hotel is in a prime location and really nice for the price. The bed was awesome. The tvs need to be updated badly. They had their own parking garage and did not charge additional as most hotels in San Francisco do. It is pretty much within walking distance to most attractions and the bus stopped right outside the hotel.

It was our first time in San Francisco and we met my brother and sister-in-law here for a great stay! We enjoyed the neighborhood atmosphere, the parking, and everyone was very friendly. Restaurants, bakeries, coffee shops all withing walking distance!

When visiting San Francisco recently we were looking for a reasonable place to stay. We wanted something somewhat close to the attractions, and parking. A friend recommended this hotel. In any big city you go to, the hotel rates are very pricey, San Francisco included. And most of the hotels include an additional parking fee. The fees can range from...

For $150 a night (including parking!), this motels works fine. There is no free breakfast or even coffe in the lobby. There are not refrigerators in the room ($5 extra). There is a safe and a 32" Zenith Circa 1995. This was all ok for us. Honestly, we usually stay at a Marriott property and often spring for a Ritz...

Dear WineGal2, Thank you for sharing your experience. I am terribly sorry that our service fell short, and please rest assured that I will discuss this with my team. In no way is what you described acceptable in our hotel. Our staff do not provide less service with 3rd party bookings and room type as well as locations are the...

We picked the Chelsea Motor Inn on price basis, it seemed to be good value. It was ok but very noisy mostly due to the thin windows towards Lombard Street. The AC/Heater in our room was also very loud. The room was spacious and clean, good bed comfort but thin blankets. Bathroom was ok even if i prefer a proper...

We stayed one night post-cruise. We needed a hotel with parking because we had a rental car, and this hotel fit the bill with ample and safe parking. I know San Francisco hotels are pricey, so took that into consideration when booking, but we really didn't think this hotel is worth the prices they charge. The room was dark and...

The Chelsea Motor Inn is located on Lombard St, so that you are already close to one of the most famous locations in SF if you just follow the road. At the same time, this also guarantees that the place will be busy, and thus noisy. Having earplugs is definitely helpful. The room itself is decent, with furniture which seems...

Staying in Marina District

Neighborhood Profile
Marina District
Beautiful homes, beautiful people, and a beautiful backdrop of the Golden Gate Bridge welcome visitors to the Marina. Originally the location for the Panama-Pacific International Exposition in 1915 (whose remnants can be seen at the Palace of Fine Arts), much of the land was filled and flattened to accommodate a world’s fair. That ample space has given way to a jogger’s paradise at the northern edge of the city. With the picturesque bay setting as its backdrop, it’s no surprise that the area has hosted numerous movie productions. Daytime activities focus on café culture and boutique shopping, while the evenings turn this neighborhood into a party-going hotspot.
