this hotel is on Union square and then ideally situated in SFO donwtown. Rooms are also quite comfortable, not too small, excellent bed. Price is correct in an area where prices often are very high. Now don't expect a fancy lobby, it's small and old style, and breakfasts are just crappy: multiple choices just beside.

Nice hotel. Staff are very helpful and friendly. Well located. Room was very clean. It is an older hotel so it is missing some of the new amenities that I prefer when traveling for business. I would come back again with my husband for a vacation visit, but not great for a working trip.

This was a last minute booking at a very reasonable price. I emailed prior to departure to ask about early check in and my email was attended to very promptly - although they couldn't guarantee early check in. (usual check in is 3 pm) I flew into San Francisco very early in the morning of 3 Feb. The Chancellor is...

Did the trip advisor research and all the comments were accurate. Central hotel, clean, friendly staff with rooms a little on the small side and dated. Overall a great place to stay for the price to explore SF with regular tram transport outside the door. This was my first trip to the SF, and to say I was shocked with...

I had a wonderful time during my stay. I cannot say enough good things about the hotel staff and cleanliness of room. Everyone was friendly and they made sure that I had all my requests honored. I will definitely stay here again and recommend to all my colleagues who visit SF.

Remodeled and the perfect location. Staff was professional and polite. Room was perfect. They even have complimentary umbrellas in the room. Little things make a difference. All types of food and attractions close. Walking distance to everything you might need. Restaurant in the hotel was great for breakfast.

I went for the Chinese New Year celebration where The Chancellor has a front row seat to the parade. The staff was highly accommodating and very friendly. The location on Union Spare was perfect for an out-of-towner (although I used to live in the city) to get a solid feel for SF without having to walk far. I would definitely...

I have been here before. So far the service has been good. I wish they had a better selection for breakfast. Maybe they need some other items, such as hot oatmeal and bacon. Great service by the staff.

This hotel is very well located near Union Square. We got there by rental car, which we dropped of at O'Farrel street, which is a short walk away from the hotel. Staff is friendly and helpful. Our room was large enough for two. Everthing was very clean and kept clean during our stay. Little downside, I think due to the...
