Quality of service is very good and atmosphere in the room is really special with funny colours. Nob Hill is a good central place within SF for visiting. Cable car in front of the hotel. To get so much place in the room is quiet appreciated
My wife and I go to San Francisco at least twice each year, and for the past few years we have been staying at the Huntington Hotel on Nob Hill. What a fine place this is! We look for a centrally located place in the city that is elegant, but not outrageously priced, with roomy suite or junior suite accommodations. The Huntington is a perfect match for us. In addition, it has the best bar in San Francisco as well as a fine restaurant. We have also enjoyed the excellent spa on some visits. The doorman always remembers us when we arrive back from an outing, and on our last visit the doorman remembered us even from previous stays. We had a trip planned for the end of May, 2020, but sadly we had to cancel due to the Corona virus. The concerts and museums we had planned to enjoy had cancelled their events and exhibitions. Although I had prepaid for our room I asked if I could be given a credit for a future stay. However, Brian went beyond my expectations and refunded all of my prepayment. What a fine hotel and considerate staff! We highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a friendly, well-run, and beautiful hotel for your next trip to the City by the Bay! My dad (73) and his wife really enjoyed the hotel and its restaurant. From him: Really comfortable room, great view, very clean. Staff very nice, James (valet) and Glenn (bell) were really fun guys to talk with. Big 4 ambiance special old world richness; food was high level also. Walking access to everything around Nob Hill. Pretty damn nice.
This was our first return in 22 years. One of us loved the interior decor & the other hated it. The AC did not get the room very cool. The staff were all great. The Big 4 is a terrific bar & restaurant.
The hotel is located in the safe Nob hill neighborhood. The trolley is on the street. That makes it convenient but noisy at times. The staff was polite; but did not appear welcoming or genuinely friendly. They were formally nice. No complaints as such about the staff and no compliments. There is a good choice of restaurants when you go DOWN to the post st. However coming back the hill is STEEEEEEP. The room was spacious with quality items. But could hear tram at night😔. Wifi is good. Overall decent place but expensive.
Love this hotel, we've been staying here for over 13 years and we come to the city 2 to 3 times a year. Wonderful staff, gorgeous spa and the Big 4 restaurant is always inviting. I wish they would get Smart TV's and the technology was better in the hotel, but all in all it's still on our top place to stay in beautiful San Francisco.
My company took the staff on a weekend stay, group of 10. The rooms were outstanding and the living room area was great for get for before and after meetings and socializing. The Hotel and the Spa work in perfect coordination with each other to accommodate check ins and departures, highly recommend.
The staff is amazingly friendly. Each day they greeted us by introducing themselves by name and making sure our needs were addressed. It was old school style and service with a modern day twist. The historic nature of the building and styling remains intact while updates (such as an amazing bathroom remodel) provide modern comfort. The location is has easy access to tourist sites and conference hotels. The town car service is an extra bonus. The rates were reasonable and we even got to upgrade our room the day we arrived.
A conference brought us to the area. We were delighted by the scenic location, right across from a park and kitty corner from the church, on the very top of Nob Hill. Views from the room extended across the city. Although we arrived prior to check in we were offered an upgrade for what we thought was a very reasonably price by our charming front desk officer, who even spoke French with us! Our room (a Junior Suite) was very large and offered a sitting area. The decor and design of the room was so charming! It was out of a magazine. We were pleasantly surprised at the infrastructure of the hotel- plumbing was reliable, water was hot and water pressure was excellent in what is a historic property. We never had to wait for an elevator to our 11th floor room. Coffee, tea, and biscotti (yummy!) were available in the morning in the lobby, and infused water and fruit was available the rest of the day. Staff were so friendly and accommodating! Jarvis held the door for us, and Carlton helped us with all our questions. Ursula drove us in a town car, which is a service that the hotel offers. Very nice when you want to head out shopping or to a nearby restaurant but you are terrified of the hills!! Housekeeping staff were friendly and offered turn down service each evening. We kept the window open to listen to the sounds of the city- the rattle and bells of the cable cars (which run right in front of the hotel) and the chimes of the cathedral across the street. This was such a delightful hotel- the friendly service, beautiful atmosphere, and preferred location can not be beat. I can not wait to return!…
I've stayed at almost every hotel in the Nob Hill area and this is my go to choice. The rooms are large and comfortable. The staff is incredibly professional without sacrificing friendliness. And the pool and spa and restaurant really can't be beat. Love staying here.
