Nob Hill
Swanky and stylish, Nob Hill sits in the heart of the city and is home to amazing architecture and views. The hike to the top can be a challenging workout for those who forego a cable car ride, but they will be rewarded with some of the city’s most beautiful architecture adorning its peak. Originally populated with mansions after the Gold Rush, most if not all were devastated in the 1906 earthquake and fire that followed. Luckily all is not lost; storied hotels and Grace Cathedral surround Huntington Park. Having a drink or dinner while taking in the sunset and views at the "top of the Mark" is tough to beat.

I'm an American Express platinum cardholder who has stayed at over 30 AMEX Fine Hotels & Resorts (FHR) properties throughout the world. Of those 30+ properties, the Huntington is unquestionably the least deserving of FHR designation. The facilities throughout the hotel feel

Todd, I'm sad that after our discussion Wednesday, which you seemed graciously appreciative of including our compensation you requested and we obliged to, that you felt that we're worthy of just a single star. That being said, we appreciate you visited us, and appreciate your feedback. Time and time again, many of our American Express Fine Hotels guest rave about their visits- enjoying the history and charm of the hotel as well as the cleanliness and character. The hotel is by no means a modern building, matter of fact it prides itself, like the much larger Fairmont you mentioned in having much of the history of San Francisco right inside our walls. The Loews in the Financial District certainly offers a much different character. The Huntington was removed completely in 2014 and will be again within the year including our air conditioning- we're thankful that the climate in San Francisco is mild and our windows fully open. In the meantime, air conditioning works when it is hot. The gym is currently in a temporary setting as we build out a new, larger, completely renovated fitness center. The room with the shower attached is storage for supplies. Overall, I'm sad you don't find the hotel as a good fit for you and we appreciate your feedback. Thank you so much. I stayed here because I could easily walk to my friends' house in Russian Hill from here. The rooms are large, the bathroom is very nice, and I like the Keurig coffee maker in the room. But man, is this place over-priced. In addition to paying a premium for this hotel, you then

Picklebird, Thanks for your review and for staying with us. Yes, Nob Hill is an easy walk to much of the city- Russian Hill and Union Square included and thank you for complimenting about our rooms- over half of our rooms are well over 400 square feet making them some of the largest in San Francisco. I'm sorry you feel that we aren't fairly priced due to our Facility Fee which includes towncar service when available, turndown daily, digital newsreader, high speed internet, local calls, morning coffee and more. The average in San Francisco is $35 a night and if you see anywhere where it's not listed on the booking sites, please let me know. We audit that to assure transparency as much as possible. And yes, the adjacent Nob Hill Spa, a full service three floor spa facility featuring a relaxing infinity pool, is a luxurious facility but does get very busy, henceforth needing reservations and a premium over just using the hotel and Big 4 Restaurant. We just released a Rose Petal service along with a CBD Massage that are very well received. Book very well in advanced- the spa is always very busy as it's a locals favorite. If you had a massage service and felt it was overpriced for what you received in that service, please let me know. Thank you, and enjoy your next San Francisco stay. It is a beautiful hotel, well located, great rooms, good restaurant but the AC does NOT work, the elevator is broken and there is no time soon to be fixed. The lobby is nice and simple but the furniture is a kind of old.

Lucia, Thanks so much for visiting us. We really appreciate you joining us and the compliments about the hotel are appreciated. From time to time, in historic hotels like ours, things go wrong and it may not always be a simple fix. I'm so sorry to hear it detracted. Our a/c is working, and our windows open which is nice too if you love fresh air. Thankfully when one of our elevators went down for maintenance the others worked fine. All our best, Ryan Parker, General Manager rparker@huntingtonhotel.com

713Hyde, I'm so glad you returned a second time and that we've won over your heart as your go to in San Francisco. Thank you! I'm so glad to hear you enjoyed the nostalgic Big 4 Restaurant experience- we think the live piano at night is such a great classic experience. Thank you again, come back soon and know the Huntington team very much appreciates your feedback. Cheers, Ryan Parker, General Manager rparker@huntingtonhotel.com
