The views from the room were incredible. I am sure that it is partly due to exceptional weather and very little fog. The room was quiet and housekeeping was exceptional. The service staff was overall outstanding except for one bellhop who watched me navigate 3 bags through the lobby and would not open the door for me. He actually stood...

You can tell when the staff enjoys their job by the way they interact with the guest. Service is very important at this property. I am not a city liver so I asked for a quiet location if possible. My room was forth floor back corner quiet and very spacious. For a very novel idea the hotel hosted wine tasting at...

I stayed here for one evening, for business. Service was exceptional from the moment I stepped in the door with the bellman providing me a bottle of water, to provision with a dental kit and scissors I needed to borrow to take care of a snag on my dress. My king room was very sweetly-appointed, and bed was the most...

We planned a long weekend in San Francisco, and decided to stay at the Mark Hopkins. I used the Ambassador club membership to get us an upgraded room. We ended up with a suite on the 16th floor with views of the golden gate bridge and the bay bridge. The views were as good the ones at the Top of...

Visited just before Christmas and the hotel was dressed appropriately....a really impressive building with commanding views over San Francisco. Although the Nob Hill area is a top residential area it is not ideally placed for visitors as it is at the top of some very steep inclines and it doesn't have lots of good restaurants and bars around the corner....

This hotel was recommended to me by a fellow co worker..Very nice hotel. clean and the staff were very pleasant. Even though car was expensive to park it was worth it. They had it ready as soon as you went down, Hotel on top of hill. but not far from North Beach or Cow Hollow which had some very nice...

The rooms are very nice and very clean. I had a suite, but it was close to a loud elevator. The hotel is beautiful, but the amenities are just ok. It's a decent walk to get to anything. The restaurant is cool. The view of the city is unbeatable. The brunch and breakfast is outstanding. The wine list and the...

Thank you for sharing your experience from your recent stay at the InterContinental Mark Hopkins San Francisco. I should start by saying the staff at the hotel was extremely friendly and welcoming, and the hotel itself is charming in the way old hotels often are. But also lacks charm in the way old hotels sometimes do, too. For one, the windows leak air and don't keep out noise AT ALL. So with the traffic, and the trolley,...

Of all the places to choose from in San Francisco, we picked the Mark Hopkins for our staycation and didn't regret it. All the staff were warm and inviting, we got upgraded to a room with a view of the Golden Gate, dined at drank at the Top of the Mark, and got to visit at least three other eateries/bars...

Staying in Nob Hill

Neighborhood Profile
Nob Hill
Swanky and stylish, Nob Hill sits in the heart of the city and is home to amazing architecture and views. The hike to the top can be a challenging workout for those who forego a cable car ride, but they will be rewarded with some of the city’s most beautiful architecture adorning its peak. Originally populated with mansions after the Gold Rush, most if not all were devastated in the 1906 earthquake and fire that followed. Luckily all is not lost; storied hotels and Grace Cathedral surround Huntington Park. Having a drink or dinner while taking in the sunset and views at the "top of the Mark" is tough to beat.
