This hotel is a favourite of ours. Very good service, beautiful rooms and well located in town. The rooms are quiet from external noise notwithstanding the location of the hotel. They are also quiet from internal noise - which I think is as a result of the hotels solid construction We were celebrating our 40th anniversary and they recognised it...

This is a gorgeous hotel committed to excellent customer service. I left a book for a celebrity interview I was conducting that I needed and the security officer, Michael Gomez, went above and beyond to ensure I received it on time. The staff is well trained, the hotel is beautiful and everyone is upbeat and kind.

After my last miserable stay at the Westin affiliated San Francisco Park Central Hotel last year, I didn't expect much from The Palace. I was very happily surprised. I was familiar with The Palace from living in San Francisco for 18 years. It is a grand old hotel. The attention to detail is seen throughout the property. Janet greeted me...

First class all the way. From the reception to the rooms, to the doormen, everything is done professionally, and with a smile. The room was beautiful, and kept clean. Location is perfect, right next to the subway station.

Everything about this hotel is awesome. Ruben from front desk is simply the best. He is very professional and personable. The birthday surprise for me by my fiance in the Palace Bridal Suite was on point and Ruben managed to prepare the details to a tee. Simply, the best. The suite's atmospherics is second to none. Everything about the spacious...

I really liked our room, the bed was very comfortable. It's pretty close to other big buildings and if you're windows are open during the day people can look in from the adjacent offices. We didn't eat in the hotel because there are so good restaurants nearby. It's easy to get a cab or a private car to get to...

At a luxury hotel, we can only hope for the best of everything. While the Palace Hotel is a beautiful place to stay for a few days, sound proofing in the rooms facing Market St was lacking (and I was on a high floor too). A person screaming/ranting for a good 10 minutes on a Friday night was too close...

I love everything about The Palace Hotel. The staff is very friendly and helpful and the lobby and the Garden Court are breathtakingly exquisite with its muted lighting and early 20th century decor. The food in the Pied Piper and Garden Court restaurant is yummy, the bed and pillows are comfy, and it's situated in a wonderful, centralized location --...

We live behind the hotel and sometimes book a staycation for a night or two to be pampered, do room service, watch "in-theater" movies in the room, use the gym, have breakfast and stay a night at this beautiful property - we are never disappointed. The rooms and bathrooms are clean and modern. The hotel is very central to everything...

Staying in SoMa

Neighborhood Profile
SoMa
South of Market (SoMa), has an urban and sophisticated vibe, but you're more likely to find big nightclubs and lots of industrial loft residences than you are to find boutique shopping. Although it’s the epicenter for tech startups in the city, visitors will be able to do more than just business - museums, top quality restaurants, and the San Francisco Giants now call this neighborhood home. Most of its freeway-sized streets may not capture the same character as other neighborhoods in the city, but pockets of charm, like South Park, can still be found throughout its side streets.
