The hotel is in a great location. Perry's restaurant downstairs, and Boulevard on the corner. The only issue I have is the price for a room with no window. There was some noise that bled through from adjoining rooms that was not so great. I chose Hotel Griffon as it is walking distance to my office. A real plus.

Dear John, Thank you for taking the time to leave us your comments. I am glad that you enjoyed out location; we are fortunate to have and be surrounded by some great sites, not least of which are the myriad dining options on the Embarcadero. While all of our rooms have windows, including some with sweeping views of the Bay,...

Beautiful location and amazing stay. Very helpful and accommodating staff. Really enjoyed our stay here in a beautiful room. Really enjoyed the coffees in the morning. It was perfect for us away from the hustle and bustle but a short walk away

The Hotel Griffon has special meaning for my wife and I. We are always delighted with their service, friendliness, hospitality and style. Plus, we absolutely love their location and access to YMCA! I have stayed at other San Francisco hotels but for the value and service we receive; none are better for us than Hotel Griffon. We highly recommend this...

Hotel Griffon is located on the Embarcadero, right along the water, so it's a great location. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. But my room was very small and dark. The bathroom was practically a closet with no door. And the place was a bit musty. Not sure if I'd stay there again.

The King suite with a view of the Bay Bridge lit up at night was the icing on the cake! The room was spotless, the decor was contemporary and well appointed. Comfortable bed and linens and nice amenities. The standard kings are just as nice but don't have the spectacular view and the additional living space. Comfy bathrobes and slippers...

Unfortunately the rooms at this location are extremely small, Could not tell from the website but it was so small there was really no getting around the bed. Closet space was at a premium and felt very claustrophobic. On the positive it is located in a great walking neighborhood and the Bay Bridge is very close by. Overall they main...

We got the valet parking package where we got free parking along with our stay. We chose to use uber or Lyft around town making it super convenient. The staff at the front desk were so friendly :) we are considering staying an extra night !

The "standard" room is quite small. The sink was in the bedroom about 4 feet from the foot of the bed. The bathroom was also quite small. If there had been more than just me, there would have been a lot of sidling around each other in the room. The main issue for me was the one window which was...

Stayed in October 2016 pre-cruise. Great location, easy to grab a cab or uber to the wharf, or just walk down the Embarcadero. Safe, boutique. Restaurant inside is a hidden gem, try it when you stay. Will stay again when we return.

We found this hotel by chance and so glad we decided to stay. The restaurant located on the first floor has amazing food and so convenient. We upgraded after our first night to a suite and was not disappointed. So much room for a city known for small spaces! Highly recommend the Hotel as staff were very helpful and the...

Staying in SoMa

Neighborhood Profile
SoMa
South of Market (SoMa), has an urban and sophisticated vibe, but you're more likely to find big nightclubs and lots of industrial loft residences than you are to find boutique shopping. Although it’s the epicenter for tech startups in the city, visitors will be able to do more than just business - museums, top quality restaurants, and the San Francisco Giants now call this neighborhood home. Most of its freeway-sized streets may not capture the same character as other neighborhoods in the city, but pockets of charm, like South Park, can still be found throughout its side streets.
