Really nice hotel but not ideal if you need a room with 2 queens or 1 queen 1 double. They only have standard rooms with 2 doubles which is not great for 2 adults and a teen. Lobby is very nice and garden as well. close to mall which is nice

Hotel's Favorite
I decided on this hotel because of many reasons such as location, rating, pet-friendly, etc. It was such a center of the activities I planned for this specific trip. Overall the hotel is in good ambience. Hotel staffs are very friendly and helpful. Lobby area is spacious and comfortable. Not expected but there were many restaurants with good reviews all walking distance from the hotel. The hotel parking was full at the time I checked in but we got to park the car in the public garage connected to the hotel. From now I will call this hotel as my home in SF.

Our first time staying at Hotel Kabuki and in Japan town. The location is fun and vibrant, situated near good food (& karaoke!) The hotel has a cool, industrial vibe mixed with Japanese influence and a charming center courtyard with a koi pond. Our room was one of the suites; large, quiet with view of the garden. Staff was friendly and professional. Highly recommend drinks at the bar!

We were visiting on our honeymoon and would stay in this hotel, even if we lived in the area, that’s how nice it is! Right in the heart of Japan town in SF and close to all of the good food. Thanks for a great stay!

The hotel was beautiful! When you walk in, you're greeted by friendly and helpful staff at the front desk. They offer you water (which is free during your stay!) and ask if you need help with bringing your things up to your room. I asked if there was a microwave anywhere in the hotel that was for public use because I like to save on food while I'm traveling, but they did me one better... they offered to bring a microwave to my room for the duration of my stay instead! Once I got to my room, I immediately got a text asking if my room was up to my liking and to let me know that any requests may be made through that text line, so convenient! The room itself was great, and the hotel is located directly behind the East Mall in Japantown Center which is super convenient. Food all around the hotel is delicious, if you have time and don't mind a wait, I recommend going to Daeho across the street. Overall, I would absolutely come back to this hotel if I ever need a San Francisco stay.

Modern Japanese themed hotel. Right in the heart of Japan Town in San Francisco next to Japan Entertainment Center (food and shops). Quick Drive to Golden Gate Park. Hotel was very clean. Staff was courteous. Might have been a bit pricey, but the overall value was definitely there. Will be coming back again.

I stayed at Hotel Kabuki when I was traveling to San Francisco. The hotel is at a great location, at where It is considered as a generally safe area (Japantown) in the city. Also, there are many public transportation options near, such as Muni buses and trains. I did not need to rent a car. The hotel building was good as described on the reservation page. The experience at the hotel was good until I found out about the amenity fee that was put on my credit card on file a few days after my stay, when I checked my bank statement. I am frankly agitated by the fact that I had not been notified about the amenity fee for the nights that I stayed at the hotel. It should be communicated when I was providing my credit card only for incidentals during the check in process. At least, a notification text or an email should be communicated to inform that the fee was going to incurred. This is a type of Junk fees that are dishonest and sneaky. I am sharing this so potential customers can take both the good and the bad about the hotel into consideration before booking!

I was traveling with my teenage daughter. Our room was the furthest down the hall with one window and exposed plumbing in ceiling. It looked like a room you would use for storage that got converted into a hotel room. The noise from the air conditioner was unbelievable! We asked for a new room the next morning and they put is one level down in the room furthest down the hall on the same level. The hotel was not full. I would not come back to this hotel again. Breakfast was $85 with tip for a mediocre buffet.

We had an amazing experience, loved the top floor with the balcony view. Was much better than we experienced. The free espresso machine was a HUGE highlight as well. The drinks were amazing at the bar with great service. We definitely be back again!

Nice spot in a good location. The service offered was great. Food and drinks were pricey. There are good restaurants in the area, but few decent bars within walking distance. We would recommend this hotel.
