Nice location, as others have noted, easy walks to great San Fran offerings. Lafayette Park was particularly a nice morning walk, about 10 minutes. Checking in was a bit of a challenge, no parking available, and steep steps up to the front door. I did not appreciate being greeted by David as "Mr President", nor my wife as "Mrs Pence",...

This was our first trip to San Francisco and won't be our last thanks to our wonderful hosts at the Union Street Inn! What a lovely place to stay, from the room with our very own balcony with views of the beautiful gardens, our wonderful fresh made breakfast each morning, fresh brewed coffee and a nice tea selection, the fresh...

We were delighted with our 4 night stay here. The location was perfect, lovely neighborhood to walk around, plenty of good restaurants nearby and good public transportation right outside the front door. The room was large, airy and the bed very comfortable. But the best thing about the Union Street Inn is the welcome. Being able to sit in the...

The beauty of the garden, the loveliness and comfort of the rooms, the friendly and genuine hospitality, the stunningly delicious breakfast. Truly a delight! When I called for a reservation I could tell this was our kind of place. The Union Street Inn is simply sublime. We stayed in the English Garden Room, the one with its own balcony that opens on to the wonderful garden. Imagine opening your own French Door to such stunning sight! But to us the real treat was the...

Its been 15 years since our last stay at the Union Street Inn so we hoped it would meet our expectations once again - we were not disappointed. The property continues to be expertly maintained and has a serene but welcoming vibe. We stayed in the New York room overlooking the main street and it is lovely waking to see...

We had booked a hotel in the union square area. My wife and I decided to check availability of B&B. Absolutely the best decision we could have made. The Carriage house cottage at the Union Street B&B is truly a hidden gem in the city. We were conveniently located to all of the city. The staff was stunningly friendly, knowledgeable...

We stayed in the English Garden Room which has a wonderful private balcony. The garden is enchanting and such a surprise element for a house on busy Union Street. The Union Street Inn is very quiet. The Innkeepers are so helpful. We loved coming home to wine and cheese every afternoon. The bathroom is small, but the bed is comfortable...

Our room was spotless, comfortable and welcoming, and innkeepers Kit, Chuck and David provided fantastic tips about where to go and what to do. The location is outstanding ......

Staying in Marina District

Neighborhood Profile
Marina District
Beautiful homes, beautiful people, and a beautiful backdrop of the Golden Gate Bridge welcome visitors to the Marina. Originally the location for the Panama-Pacific International Exposition in 1915 (whose remnants can be seen at the Palace of Fine Arts), much of the land was filled and flattened to accommodate a world’s fair. That ample space has given way to a jogger’s paradise at the northern edge of the city. With the picturesque bay setting as its backdrop, it’s no surprise that the area has hosted numerous movie productions. Daytime activities focus on café culture and boutique shopping, while the evenings turn this neighborhood into a party-going hotspot.
