The entire staff goes above and beyond to make guests to feel welcomed and taken care of. Location was great, breakfast was great and the hotel is cute and cozy. I visited while on business in San Francisco and the location was very convenient.
The White Swan feels like you are staying with an eccentric English relative in the countryside. So charming and comfortable! Great continental breakfast and wine and cheese during happy hour in their lovely lounge and library is a real treat.
Bed was great, room was great, fireplace was awesome. The only think lacking was the breakfast. Nothing hot, except toast and coffee, not like the pictures shown. Was expecting hot eggs, or biscuits and gravy like shown in pictures. Really disappointed, especially since it was a cold rainy day. We had the room shown in their picture, with the 1960's picture and the large floral print wallpaper - LOVED IT!!!
Ideal for couples, the White Swan Inn has very well designed rooms that are not only quite spacious but also very confortable. Breakfast is good with nice pastries (be careful if you have particular dietary restriction). The staff is very helpful, particularly if you need to leave the luggage after check-out. Located relatively close to Chinatown, you will be walking distance from several relevant locations
We have a wonderful stay at the White Swan Inn. Conveniently locate, we walked to all of our destinations, or took MUNI. Staff was friendly and helpful, and the owners have done a good job of keeping the older building current and clean. We appreciated the double paned windows in our third floor room at the front of the building, kept the evenings on busy Bush Street very quiet. The breakfast was fine, more fresh fruit options would be an upgrade. Evening wine service was acceptable, and service was cordial and friendly. The elevator really helped, and the fireplaces made for a cozy environment. We would definitely stay here again!
Well located and priced -- includes breakfast & wine/snacks in the evening in a common room with two fireplaces. First-rate service from all the staff. We had a king room with a fireplace, which was very helpful for drying wet coats & shoes on a rainy weekend. Central location let us BART to/from SFO, take a local bus to Golden Gate Park and the Haight, and walk to tons of other places. Recommend!
My fiancé and I went to the White Swan in hopes to utilize it as a wedding reception site for our June 2023 city hall wedding. We are planning on have 20-30 guest and thought it would be amazing to rent the inn for a couple days. We met with Luis who was a very nice guy and we loved the quirky vibe the Inn. It felt very San Franciscan but not at the same time. We were interested and told Luis that we would follow up. The next few days we contact him to get the details and how to put deposits down. He responded but in away that was not enthusiastic about booking us for our date. He said that he was going on vacation and would be back the following week. We contacted him after his vacation and we got no response back. Needless to say we ended moving on to another vendor, which accommodated us and want to host us and our guests. I think it is amazing place, but they seemed uninterested in us spending our money there. Oh well! …
Great boutique hotel with excellent breakfast and evening goodies. Attentive staff, clean, charming rooms and relatively quiet. An easy walk to public transportation and a great jazz club on the same block!
The White Swan Inn in SF on Bush St. was gem of a boutique hotel. At $144 a night with a great location close to China Town and Union Square, it is not to be missed. Plus, it is close to our favorite cocktail bar, PCH, and right next door to a killer brick oven pizza joint. They serve a modest free breakfast and we enjoyed unlimited wine and nibbles each night. The staff was lovely and the decor is a mix of Victorian and 1960’s flair. Most rooms have fire places, which make it great for a Winter trip. You have to climb hills to get there but it was worth it. We stay in lots of hotels and this one was special in my opinion.
Good beds and an ok breakfast offering. The location is great and there’s a good pizza place downstairs. Plenty of restaurant selections near by but use caution - most are high even by SF prices. The hotel itself has a design motif based on Anglophile mod ‘60s and plenty of kitchen to look at. I love that they retained much of the hotel’s architecture and moldings. The staff are OUTSTANDING!!!
