SF is very expensive but a 3-people private room with bath was according to the price. Breakfast is abundant and caloric. Clean and comfortable. The negative thing is that it is located in Tenderloin, the worst, dangerous district in the city with plenty of homeless and junkies.

My 1st experience of hostel in US , and I am lucky to make good decision coming here. Location is superb just 2 blocks away from Union Square. Check in was fast. This place is great at cleanliness and lovely generous breakfast. Staffs are helpful. I stayed in 10 bed-dorm underground and everyone respect privacy of each other. Yes, found... More

On the recommendation of our backpacker son,we thought we would try this budget hostel. We could not have been happier. It was clean and quiet and the staff were very pleasant and helpful. The private rooms had ensuites and were great for the price. We missed the pub crawl night but went on the guided tour of twin peaks which... More

I was astounded at the work that the owner's of this hostel have put into this building...it really is hidden, at the end of an alley-like street (Isadora Duncan Ln) and situation just 2 blocks from Union Square and BART stations, MUNI stations. The hostel environment is cozy and the staff hardworking and friendly. I especially remember a woman working... More

The Adelaide has two properties near each other. Both are nice, and the staff is great! It is located in sort of a sketchy area not far from Tenderloin, which I learned the hard way is infamous for break ins and thefts. Although I think within a block or two it's probably pretty safe! But the staff was so helpful!... More

Great Location, but it is really expensive for what it offers. The smell in the common areas is quite unpleasant, it seams they don' throw away the trash bins quite often. And the beds and the linens smell like they have been washed, but you can find hairs on your bed. My room was on the basement, and when I... More

Expensive hostel, beds are good - individual lights and plug sockets at each bunk. Steep stairs so awkward to get luggage up. Showers and slight disaster, one was broke and the other took ages to get any bit warm. Expensive hostel but good location, 5 minute walk to union square. Check in staff not really interested in her job or... More

Very happy with my stay at the Adelaide. Most importantly it was clean! And breakfast really generous and delicious. However, DO NOT book via 3rd party website like Expedia because will need to spend a lot of time and patience to make changes to your dates.
