The room was clean but cozy. The library bar was great and was a good location for San Francisco. The bathroom was quite small, but what you would expect from a boutique hotel. Great bed and is a hotel with charm. However, I found the lift to be very slow and also quite small.

Stayed one night. Nice location just off of Union Square and the theater district. Room was small but clean. Lobby was well taken care of and staff was polite. Lots of other places to stay in the area, but I would return to the Rex.

And new paint can't hide it. The hotel is tired and musty smelling. That said, it is a great location at a great price. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Can't comment on the food, didn't try it.

The musty carpet smell in the lobby was the first thing I noticed on checking in. The welcome was friendly and my room on 2nd floor was very large. But the musty carpet smell in my room spoiled my stay. Apart from that it is a good location and close the some decent restaurants and bars. The comfortable bed had...

Stayed here for 3 nights to start our journey travelling America. Was right in the centre of San Fran near all amenities and tourist locations. Bedrooms were tidy and well presented, obviously no nice view, but you expect that in the middle of a city centre. Hotel staff were friendly and always there to help. Nice little bar area with...

Location is excellent one block from Union Square. Very enjoyable stay, rooms cozy shower was very good, we even had a window in our bathroom. Particularly like the wine bar and free glass of wine between 5 and 6. A very welcome cold drink after the hectic things we did each day in San Francisco. Breakfast is good but if...

Though location of the hotel is in downtown area for a plus point but stay was very much discouraging. Reception was not good. Very old hotel and not upgraded. We didn't find it good and changed the hotel after two days.

I visited San Fran over the New Year and had the pleasure of staying at Hotel Rex. The location is perfect. Close enough to the shopping and touristy areas to walk, but far enough that you're not swept up in a crowd the moment you leave the hotel. When I arrived the room I had reserved was not available. So...
