We had a week staying as a family of 3 at the Hotel Zetta. Our room was large with great facilities and a super sized bathroom. It was also very reasonably priced. Myself and my 16 year old son particularly enjoyed the games room with free pool, table tennis, pinball and shuffle board. It’s very centrally located and is near to all transport routes including a very short walk for the airport BART. The staff were friendly and accommodating and also had a ready smile. We would have no hesitation in booking this hotel again.

Location is super convenient with BART and MUNI station just down the block, a Blue Bottle coffee branch across the street along with a very good Italian place for lunch or dinner at 54 Mint. You can walk easily to Yerba Buena Gardens or SFMOMA.

Do not book this hotel through booking.com. We planned a trip in May and although booking stated that only 1 night would be deducted as an advance, the whole trip was deducted a day after the booking. I tried to contact them to ask them about it but had 0 reaction. I told them that i would make use of my free cancellation but still had no reaction. I have now cancelled the trip for almost a week with again no reaction and no refund. I’m a frequent traveller but have never had the experience that a hotel doesn’t even take the time to reply and uses its customers as a bank.

I was the coordinator for a large group, an overall, it was a decent experience. The only saving grace was Diane, at the front desk, because she was absolutely amazing. She went above and beyond for our group. She is a true servant leader who can de-escalate any issue. She truly cares about her team, the guests, and everyone she encounters. She was the best part of the whole stay.

This is a great stay. Diane the front desk gal helped us with all of our needs. Cool game room and hip restaurants and bars attached to the building. The art installations were awesome as well. We will be back for sure !

Too many hidden costs I don’t understand why there is even a resort fee for this. And when asked what this resort fee includes, I was shown a board and told - go read that. No explanation no courtesy nothing. And the staff don’t communicate with each other. The late night staff is nice. He extended by check out by a couple of hours. And the morning staff asked me for money and said that the late night staff shouldn’t be doing that. Crappy service. Also beware of the homeless problem outside the hotel.

On the other hand, it seems that the Guest Amenity Fee was a surprise and I apologize if this was the case. The Guest Amenity Fee gives our guests access to a variety of amenities such as a $10 credit to use towards the on demand mini bar menu, morning coffee/tea service, Oculus Go headsets, bikes, Highspeed WIFI, and more. When guests book directly with us, we make every effort to make sure this is very clear, and we work hard to make sure that it is the same with our online travel partners. Once more please accept my apologies if this was not clear as I can understand how frustrating this would be. Bed was uncomfortable and our room sounded like we were in a busy laundromat at night. Ice machine noise was present all day. TV didn’t work well and was not able to stream on Wi-Fi. Service was nice enough, but I felt like the effort on having a lobby with activities should be focused on improving room experience.

Booked this hotel for a couples weekend treat for me + my partner--advertised as fun-loving, upscale place with access to fun games and technology but the reality was not as fun or tech-savvy as promised. We opted for pricier option of "zen" room so we could try out a Peloton but the bike didn't include the class/subscription so was basically just a stationary bike (also, the staff had no idea or documentation on how to use). Other in room amenities advertised as included, either had to be checked-out from front desk or straight-up did not work. Phone charger in room was broken, for example. Check-in system was in the process of getting updates which we learned after arrival (no heads up from the hotel) and this caused a significant check-in delay, plus potential leakage of personal/credit card info since app had to be downloaded and then did not work. Even with the manual check-in, we were issued keys to another guest's room (and they came in as we were trying to figure out what was happening--very awkward!!). Website said there was parking but only via valet (+$50), but when we arrived there was no actual valet person or clear info. We had to navigate crazy traffic and call the hotel several times before getting thru and getting proper information for safely parking and unpacking our car. Staff was nice enough and seemed willing to help remedy issues as they came up by offering free drinks, but unfortunately it wasn't just one "snafu"-- it was multiple which really took away from our less than 48-hour visit and impacted our plans. Popped into the City for one night for some holiday parties and didn't want to have to make the long trek home, so we booked at a night at Hotel Zetta. Centrally located and the experience was great from start to finish. Jamal and Diane at the front desk were fantastic: welcoming, funny, warm, and clearly cared about our stay and what brought us there etc. They recently changed management, it sounds like, and you can tell the new management is making a big effort to be thoughtful in their hospitality efforts.
