San Francisco is a tough town to find an affordable hotel in. I was weary when I found this one seeing as though it's a motor lodge. I was pleasantly surprised when I arrived and saw how cute the rooms are. In addition, you can't beat the location. The restaurants in the area are incredible and there is a trolley...

If you're looking for an exquisite place to stay, this is not it. But if you need a comfortable bed, a nice shower in a nicely designed space, Beck's is a great place to hang your hat. Could it have been better? Sure, but not for the price and not easily in that neighborhood. Plus it has nice little amenities...

Becks Motor Lodge is very clean, comfortable and located just right. Cable car stop in front. The beds are cozy and the shower was awesome. We will absolutely stay here again real soon. The staff are friendly and helpful.

The location is just perfect. In the heart of Castro (it can get noisy at night because of car sirens), 20 minute walk to the Painted Ladies, 20 minute walk to Mission and its beautiful murals, 10 minute ride to Twin Peaks and great views of the whole city, 30 minute in the cable car to Embarcadero and all the...

Beck's has long been the premier location, walking distance to everything in the Castro, and a convenient train ride to downtown, the bay, and the East Bay. The remodel is beautiful!!!, but prices have risen... not unreasonable for SF though. Post-remodel, the customer base is more mixed.

When looking for two nights accomodation in SF I came accross Beck's and was so glad I did. We needed parking which is hard to find within a budget. We had no problem finding a park when we arrived around 4pm. After reading previous reviews we left the car parked there for our two nights and used the trolley to...

Walls are a little thin, but other than that everything was amazing! Great location, great room, excellent rate and very nice people at reception! The a/c was quiet, the shower had a great rain shower head and the room was obviously mid-century modern inspired (which I love!) Perfect for a renovated Motor Lodge. :) It was easy to get a...

It's a motor lodge on a major road. The traffic noise from cars buses and trams is significant. The motor lodge has very thin walls. You will hear this day and night especially at rooms nearer the road. You will also hear upstairs, downstairs and your neighbours on the same floor. Even the toilet flushing next door will feel like...

This property has been renovated and is beautiful. The rooms are modern and clean, and the location is perfect distance to all the Castro has to offer. Will always stay here when I am in town, hands down!

Recently painted, the rooms are nices with comfort beds and usefull bathroom. The motel is located in the center of the city, with street car stop just in front of it. All we needed for a city tour trip, not a romantic stay!

Staying in The Castro

Neighborhood Profile
The Castro
A flourishing commercial area that acts as San Francisco's LGBT community center and cultural heart, the Castro is a neighborhood welcome to everyone. As one of the first predominantly LGBT neighborhoods in the United States and currently its largest, it remains one of the epicenters of activism in the nation. Grand theaters and glitzy shops now compete with bars and fashionable eateries for attention, drawing visitors from around the world to the bright rainbow flag acting as its beacon.
