The Acadia Hotel- Downtown offers the best location in Bar Harbor. Situated on the town square (The Village Green), it is the geographic center of Bar Harbor, which makes it the top choice for summer and winter travelers. Surrounded by shops, galleries, and restaurants, the Acadia Hotel offers something for everyone. The hotel was originally built in 1880, but the rooms are pristine and modern. This is a fantastic boutique hotel that feels more like an Inn. All guest rooms are slightly different and have their own character. If you looking for a standard hotel chain, this is not the place for you. However, if you’re looking for location, character, cleanliness and 5-star customer service, the Acadia Hotel – Downtown can not be beat! This small family owned and operated hotel takes pride in keeping the rooms updated and renovated. Additionally, they go above and beyond to make sure each and every guest has a memorable experience not just at the hotel, but in Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park as a whole. As a bonus, the hotel offers free parking for every guest - a big plus in downtown Bar Harbor. (Cars arriving late or large vehicles may have to park at the hotel’s annex lot half a block away.) The Hotel has two outdoor hot tubs that are open year-round, free bicycles for guests' use, as well as hiking equipment free of charge!

We chose this hotel for our 4 night stay because they offered parking with an EV charger so we could charge our Tesla and it was wonderful! We stayed in the Dorr Mountain suite and it was super spacious and clean! They had a balcony, refrigerator and good toiletries. The hotel is perfectly located right in town so you can walk to restaurants/bars/shops very easily. Due to the COVID pandemic, they provided bagged breakfasts based on your selections from the night before - seemed to be mostly store bought options, but there are a lot of great breakfast places nearby so it was totally sufficient. They removed garbage almost daily and replenished towels and cleaned the room about every two days. Checkin/out was efficient and WiFi worked well. I would definitely stay at this hotel again the next time I visit Bar Harbor!!

Spent two nights off peak tourist season in November. The hotel is really cute, outside and inside, and staff is taking COVID-19 very seriously: all rooms are unoccupied for 24h after each guest leaves, to give them enough time to sanitize and clean. There was a bottle of cleaner and paper towels in the room, in the hallway and at the reception area. All staff was wearing masks and they are cleaning the common areas very often throughout the day. At check in they asked if I prefer housekeeping or not, and I declined it - happy to see the option to do so.
The room was cute, clean and quiet, and the lobby area too. Staff was very helpful in providing recommendations for food!
Another plus for Tesla drivers is their charger, free and for guests only. Just let the staff know a day before the arrival if you plan to use it, especially during tourist season.
Would definitely stay again here!

My wife and I stayed at the Acadia Hotel on 6/28 for one night and had the most perfect experience. Check in was a breeze, the two young ladies were professional, extremely nice and informative. Room 201 which had views of the Village Green out of the patio door balcony was spotless and had plenty of room with the king bed. Bathroom, again spotless and large with a walk-in shower. The AC was super cold. The king bed was probably one of the most comfortable hotel beds I’ve ever slept in and the room was quiet. What a great property, definitely our new “go-to” for our yearly stays in Bar Harbor.

The good: Pretty much everything in the hotel is new and kept immaculately clean, and the people who worked there are pleasant. They also offer bikes and various equipment you may want to use while visiting Acadia.

The okay: The hotel is situated centrally in Bar Harbor. No views,
but it's close to all the restaurants and shops. There are housekeeping services, but only after two nights.

The not so good: The rooms are stingy, especially the bathrooms, and we found a lack of places to put things. We took a king room that the website describes as slightly larger than their queen rooms (and same apparently goes for the bathrooms), but it had no closet (just a confined alcove shared with a fridge), no coffee maker and no table, coffee table or desk. The TV was also very small by today's standards. The bathroom was so tiny we couldn't imagine how the queen bathrooms could actually be smaller. We had to be careful to avoid bumping into a small shelf in the bathroom because it partially blocks access to the sink. Lastly, and noting that this review is during Covid times, we ordered the complementary boxed continental breakfast on our first day but ended up throwing most of it out.

My husband and I originally chose this hotel due to the Tesla destination charger but were pleasantly pleased to discover it has lots more to offer. Our room was fantastic and the bedding was nice and comfy! Their COVID precautions made us feel safe as well. Our only complaint about our stay would be the very low water pressure in the shower.

Tesla owner tip - ask the front desk to pass your cell phone number onto any other Tesla drivers that may arrive. This will allow you to text and swap out cars to charge. There were other Tesla owners staying there when we were and it made life that much easier to ensure all got the charge they required. Would highly suggest making this part of the check-in process - asking the Tesla owner’s permission to pass on numbers if needed.

I cant say enough about his place. There location was perfect for MY wife and I. Its not on the water but it is in the middle of downtown. You can walk everywhere from here. The water front is about 1/2 mile walk from the hotel but all the shops and restaurants are on the way. The national park is about a 5 min car ride and about a 20 min ride to the top of Cadillac Mt. Now, the people working here are fantastic. Emma and Julie at the desk are gems. There maintenance people where everywhere, always touching up, (not that anything needed touch up) Loved this place.

We recently stayed at the Acadia Hotel and were extremely happy to find this small hidden gem right downtown! We had a King room which had a balcony that looked out over the street and the village green. Parking is included and so many restaurants and shops are within walking distance so it was amazing being right downtown and not having to pay for parking for once! The ladies at the front desk were very friendly and helpful. Water, tea, and coffee were always available in the lobby area. Hiking gear (such as walking sticks) are available to borrow for the day as well as bikes! They are still providing continental breakfast during COVID but have made it safe by providing each room with an order form to fill out and then receiving a "boxed breakfast" each morning. Some shortfalls for us were that our bathroom was quite tiny (and I believe it was considered larger, being a king room), and the parking lot area was extremely tight - we have a truck and there were many other trucks there as well. Overall, no major complaints and we are so happy that we've found this great place to stay right in downtown. It's open year-round as well! We'll be back for sure.

We had a 2-night stay here while in Bar Harbor and really liked the hotel. In hindsight, we should have booked a king vs. a queen room, as the rooms are on the small side and we are used to sleeping in a larger bed. But that aside, the staff was very friendly, the rooms were simply, but tastefully furnished, COVID precautions were in place, and the location was an easy walk to all the major points of interest. I'll also note that parking is included which is great because there didn't appear to be any free street parking in town. You also had use of the hotel bikes which was a big plus. Overall, a great option!

We have stayed at the Acadia Hotel several times and each time, it has been an absolute joy. The location is perfect - right in the heart of downtown Bar Harbor - and there is also ample parking in the back. They have a continental breakfast, and to be mindful of COVID protocols, they are available in a little box to be picked up in the morning (we particularly loved the coffee cake!)! We also got a lovely bottle of wine and flowers waiting for us in our room for our anniversary... such a thoughtful touch that just confirms what a great place it is. I would highly recommend a stay here, and we will definitely be back for many years to come!

My partner and I planned a 4-day weekend getaway to Bar Harbor. The Acadia Hotel was in a great location (we like to be within walking distance of activities, shops and restaurants), prices were reasonable, and they had availability. Photos on the website were attractive, and amenities were just what we were looking for, so we booked it for 3 nights. We were impressed from the moment we arrived: incredibly clean, nicely furnished and great, friendly service. Excellent continental breakfast, bicycles and helmets available to borrow (n the honor system, didn't even have to sign for them), and the room was as advertised: large, bright, clean and with a private balcony. As an extra added attraction, the sister property one block away has a street-front garden with excellent daily entertainment. We couldn't think of anything better to do after a day of biking the Acadia N.P carriage roads than sitting outside with a drink, listening to good music. Staff was knowledgeable and informative, and happy to send us off to good restaurants and interesting areas. Less than 10 minutes from Acadia N.P., where we spent a good deal of time biking and exploring. I would enthusiastically recommend the Acadia Downtown; no negatives whatsoever. We will certainly return there next time we go to Bar Harbor.

I'm sure if you emailed or called they could answer you. I was in a suite which had plenty of room... If you mean to put the crib in one of the rooms in the suite, no. It was a bed and room to walk in front of and on each side of the bed. That's all. I'm not sure what the size is of a the traditional king room, I'm commenting on the king room in the Dorr suite.
