Spectacular Ocean and Mt Views await your arrival from the private hilltop location overlooking Frenchman Bay, the Porcupine Islands, and the Mountains of Acadia National Park. Hampton Bar Harbor is NEW and is located just one mile from the hustle and bustle of the Harbor activities, restaurants, and shops in downtown Bar Harbor; accessible by car (2 min.), walking (active guests only - 15 min.), and the free Island Explorer Shuttle (late June - early Oct). It's hilltop location is peaceful and quiet, and the property itself provides easy access to all amenities (heated pool, large fitness room, complimentary hot breakfast, business & kid centers, outdoor patios, suite shop, etc.), all within one structure. Acadia National Park is just one mile from the hotel, with easy access for biking carriage paths, driving up Cadillac Mt, and exploring the Park Loop Rd. A Harbor View guest room with balcony, will provide the very BEST experience in Bar Harbor for watching a spectacular sunrise!

I am a Hilton Diamond member so I feel qualified to make some of my comments/suggestions. This hotel is too expensive. Yes, it is seasonal (it closes in winter) and it is in Bar Harbor, but there are more convenient to downtown Bar Harbor hotels at a cheaper price. This is the most expensive Hampton Inn I have ever experienced -- even more so than two Hamptons in Times Square in Manhattan and the Hampton Beale Street in Memphis. There is a bus that comes around every half hour part of the day and every 15 minutes part of the to take you downtown, but despite suggestions by the hotel that it is walkable to downtown, it indeed is not. And I am a hiker. The breakfasts are typical Hampton -- nothing better for our higher than normal Hampton prices. That said, the room was fine, the staff is friendly, they have indoor and outdoor pools and a nice gym. But for the money, keep searching options in Bar Harbor. We spent two nights and could have spent our money better eating!

Hotel's Favorite
The Hampton Inn and Suites in Bar Harbor is a nice hotel a mile or so from downtown Bar Harbor. We had a suite with a water view that had a balcony where you could sit outside and watch the sunset. The room was very spacious with two queen beds, a sofa bed and sitting area, and a kitchenette. The bathroom had the sink located outside the room where the shower and toilet were, which is not my favorite setup, however there were plenty of towels. The room was spotless and the staff very welcoming. This hotel offers free breakfast and snacks during the rest of the day (coffee, tea, lemonade, cookies or muffins, etc.) There is a restaurant on site, with an outdoor patio. They have a small business center area on the first floor and a kids play area. They also have an indoor and outdoor pool, which makes this location a great option for families. The hotel is over a mile from the main street and the waterfront, however during the summer there is a free shuttle bus that stops at the main entrance and takes visitors downtown and to nearby Acadia National Park. If you're driving, there is a huge parking lot and the entrance to Acadia Park is only a few miles away. If you're looking for a convenient home base for either Acadia or Bar Harbor, I'd recommend Hampton Inn Bar Harbor.

Seems these days everyone wants the boutique hotel experience (including me), especially in places like Bar Harbor with so many inns and B&Bs, but this Hampton Inn acts like anything but a chain hotel. It is a magnificent setting staffed with fantastic people. It's a stop on the free shuttle route but is till close enough to Bar Harbor to walk. Every room has gorgeous views, but try to get a suite if you can - they are large and have awesome balconies!. There is always fresh coffee, flavored water and cookies available. My family and I were not huge fans of the beds and pillows - they were ok, but not great. The staff is fantastic. Enjoy a stay here when visiting Acadia National Park

Review collected in partnership with Hampton
Like most of my Hampton reviews, Hampton by Hilton Bar Harbor did not disappoint! Great location! Take advantage of the busing which made getting around so easy! Hotel was clean and well staffed. Enjoyed the outdoor pool too!

The Inn was new and lovely. The indoor pool and hot tub were great. The breakfast had a unique variety of fresh fruit, smoothies, cereals, waffles, eggs, meats, breads, baked goods, oatmeal. Hampton Inn does not disappoint! The room was lovely! There were pictures from the park decorating the rooms. The views of the mountains were great. You could see the Inn from the park road. The free shuttle services this hotel. You can also walk to downtown if you want. The entrance to Acadia is not far away. The location was great! The price was higher than I have every paid for a hotel, but I do not regret it at all. Most other inns in the town were really, really old looking.
