This motel is fantastic! I cannot recommend it enough. The staff is so friendly and helpful....they went the extra mile when I locked my keys in my car. The cleaning staff left wonderful creatures on my bed every day which were such a great surprise at the end of each day. And there's plenty of hot water for showers in the morning. The room was extremely clean and quiet, and the bed and pillows were very comfortable, Good restaurants were very close to the motel and there is a microwave, fridge, and coffee maker in the room. Thank you to the staff for making my stay so pleasurable. I will certainly stay with you again given the opportunity.

It is very obvious that this is a motel from the 40s or 50s that they have tried to make more current. My biggest issue was with a musty odor that caused my nose to have an allergic reaction. I ended up checking out of the hotel early because it made more sense for me to pay $100 for hotel elsewhere than risk my allergies flaring up or a sinus infection. If the hotel was cheaper than the $300 I paid for the night I would be less dissatisfied.

Small nitpicks to call out :
1) had to drive around to another section of the property in order to get ice for the ice bucket
2) air conditioning was not on at all when I checked in at 9:00 p.m. on a day that had hit 90°. So it was like walking into an oven
3) front desk staff did not believe I was who I said I was so required me to remove my mask indoors during covid in order to verify my visual identity

They did such a good job preserving the 1950’s vibe but with new things. The tv, fridge, microwave and coffee pot were great. They could stand to update the a/c which is why I’d say 4.5 stars vs 5. The cleaning staff at this place is top notch, I’m not sure we’ve ever stayed in a cleaner room.

I would've given this motel a 0 or negative point rating if one exists! They charged me for an extra night($154) because we overstayed for a couple of hours. I tried to explain the reason to the woman at the front desk. She kept cutting me off and said she didn't want to hear more explanation. At the end she simply said "the conversation is over" and hung up on me!! I have never ever stayed in a hotel/motel with front desk being so rude and nasty! The reason I stayed past checkout time was because I went to ride the bike with my son in the morning. Then I crashed and had bruises and cuts all over on my right side of the body. I was in great pain and finally managed to get back to hotel. It was already past the checkout time. I did try to call my daughter who was in the motel room to pack and bring the luggage to the car. but either there were no signals or the signals were poor. And she had severe eczema flare and was in pain and couldn't do it. The cleaning guy never knocked on the door to ask her to leave. Also the front desk didn't call me after the checkout time to remind me. When I finally got back to the motel, I had to clean and wrap my wounds so it also took some time. Then I went to drop the key in the key box outside of the office. Since I stayed for 2 nights and they already charged me for 2 nights, I thought I didn't owe anything. So I just dropped the key without going into the office. And now she accused me of "not checking out" and said they "couldn't sell the room". But the checkin time for the next guest is 4pm and they have plenty of time to clean the room! I asked why didn't they give me a call. She said they "called" me many many times. What a lie! While i was outside, I never received a single call from them. I would think as a courtesy, if a guest goes past the checkout time, the hotel would give them a call to remind them. They just secretly charged me for a 3rd night without notifying me. I didn't find out until 3 weeks later! Don't stay in this hotel because it's over priced and you are not being treated with respect and courtesy!

This motel is conveniently located just outside of Bar Harbor- about a 20 minute walk. The room is fine although the mini fridge lacked a freezer. The shower is plenty hot and the bed was comfortable. It was just really noisy in the morning when people get up and folks tend to smoke outside their room which travels.

I will start this review by saying I am NOT a motel person. I rarely stay at them and if I do they are high end motels, not like this. First you are on a highway, the window to the motel room overlooks the parking lot meaning the drapes have to always be closed as you are literally on the parking lot in full view of the world.

The carpet is gross. Why don't motels yank out carpet and put in linoelum much easier to clean. I did not feel this was clean and refused to walk on it without shoes. The shower sucked, slow pressure and hot but not really hot. The towels were rough. That said, the bed was comfortable and once I took the disgusting bedspread off and tossed it aside the bedding underneath appeared clean. the pillows were comfortable. The air conditioner - although old and dirty worked fine. There was a small refrigerator which was nice, the TV was good, and there was a small coffee maker although I didn't use it I always travel with my own.

If you don't care about anything in a place to stay except a comfortable bed, this place was your place. I need more than that. I would never have wanted to stay here when my kids were young, I would have been disgusted. The price was average for the area, certainly not cheap, but not outrageous either. Its my own fault for not doing enough research.

The Edenbrook Motel is absolutely lovely! ✨😌 It gives the convenience of a motel while also having pristine and comfy rooms!

The receptionist who checked us is was extremely friendly and gave us all the information that we needed for our stay. The room itself was extremely clean, with two very comfy beds. The bathroom was also very large and squeaky clean, and the shower had excellent water pressure! 🧼

The location of this motel is excellent 👌 It is about a 20min walk from downtown Bar Harbor. However, if you're not one for walking, the free Island Explorer shuttle has a stop right in front of the motel! This shuttle does a loop of downtown and you can get to Acadia natl park using the shuttle! 🏞️

We will absolutely be staying at the Edenbrook Motel when we are back in Bar Harbor!

Stayed 2 nights right after Labor Day. Was one of the cheapest motels in Bar Harbor but was still over $200 a night. This for a motel right out of the 60’s. To be fair it was clean and quiet but still to far to walk to town. There is a free bus you can catch next door as you don’t want to try to park in town. There must be a 100 hotels/motels in Bar Harbor, just be prepared to spend a lot during the season. This motel has the usual 100 channels on the TV but they block out the Fox News channel so you might want to keep that in mind.

First of all, we did not yet travel there, but a travel date was required to be submitted. We were supposed to arrive in September 2022 for one-night stays prior to and right after a Road Scholar tour of Acadia National Park, but our Allegiant flights were canceled and we were unable to make other suitable arrangements. We were told by the motel manager that there would be a $25-per-booking "processing fee" charged to my card, so, a $50 charge for hitting a couple of buttons on their computer, for rooms that they are sure to rebook anyway. To be fair, the cancellation policy was stated on our invoice, but this review is being written to provide others with an idea of the total inflexibility of the management there.

We booked this well ahead of time to ensure we'd have a room. They do sell out. The room was a good sized, two queen bed room at a fair price. The motel is within easy walking distance to downtown and a short drive to the Acadia National Park entrances.
There is a refrigerator, hair dryer and iron/ironing board in the room but NO microwave. The room was clean and well kept. Overall, this is a good, moderately priced option close to downtown.
