During these Covid times, we decided not to camp because of restrictions in bath houses. We chose to stay in a cabin. We were here in mid September so didn’t need a screened in porch. We stayed in Cabin #11, which was beautifully redone with pine paneling. It was spotless. I would suggest better curtains in living room/ kitchen area as you could see through the bamboo curtains at night. My problem was with the exterior which needed painting, the deck needed to be swept from fallen branches, oak nuts, and shabby deck furniture. The grounds were very poorly tended. There was no privacy between cabins. We were on the left side of driveway. The cabins to the right of the driveway seemed to be in better condition and the cabins had more privacy. Cabin was good for this time of year as we were out during the day and sun sets early, so we weren’t sitting outside. So, depends on what you need.

We stayed in cabin #11 and it was a newly renovated cabin. It was small and cute! It’s close to downtown Bar Harbor which was nice and convenient for the group of us. The shower had good water pressure! Other then that we had no issues with our stay.

Close to the park. Really enjoyed talking with the owner. We had an older cabin not updated yet, it had character, rustic charm. I saw the remodeled ones and they looked very nice. Convenient and we slept there and the rest of the day was in the park.

Seriously, the cabin we were in (5) is not safe. All appliances (TV/cable—which we couldn’t get to work, tiny refrigerator with mini-freezer with ice cubes frozen solid, window air conditioner that barely cooled the space with cooling & fan at highest possible level) were connected to multi-plug extension cords—probably an electrical fire hazard!
The bathroom floor was covered with a variety of vinyl (?) surfaces, but some of it showed the under flooring with no covering—iI don’t know how this mishmash of flooring could be adequately cleaned.
Yes, the cabins permit dogs (one of the reasons we selected these cabins). But even our dog was offended by the smell of the “carpeting” in the main room. When we tried to feed her from her dish on the floor, she refused to eat. We had to take her outside and feed her on the tiny deck to get away from the smell. My husband & I kept our shoes on the entire time we walked on that carpeting.
The fact that the location provides lots of pictures of the few cabins that have been updated and one or no photos of the other cabins (like the one we were assigned) constitutes false advertising —a classic “bait and switch” scam.
We have 25+ years of camping experience and we’ve also stayed in a KOA cabin and a Motel 6 over our lifetimes, so we weren’t expecting luxury at this cabin at this price. But, we were expecting cleanliness and safe conditions, which this cabin did not provide.
We reserved and paid for a 5-night stay through glamping.com. We have been in touch with them several times via email since we left the cabin after one night without a plan of where else we could stay. They have tried to reach the manager Jonathan by email and phone, but have not been able to get a response.
If you choose to consider staying at these cabins, make sure you see photos of the actual cabin you are renting before you commit; make sure you are getting one of the cabins that have been updated within the past decade!

Stinkleys hell hole. As soon as we pulled in I wanted to cry. The outside is so unkempt
The pool was broken down for years looked abandoned. The owner was a money hungry jerk
The cabin was sooo small. The mattress was a board with disgusting sheets. No paper towels no salt and pepper. Lucky there was toilet paper. Just a little work might help improve the place instead of just taking money

This was this worst place me an my family ever stayed!! Thank goodness Bar Harbor an Arcadia are beautiful, an it is easy to find stuff to do because we literally could not bear to spend time in our cottage. Upon arrival a young boy maybe 13 checked us in running in an out of the house(I believe owners reside in) we were not allowed in which was fine but the whole check in was a bit off we were informed they had no WiFi an the pool was green so it was unable to use which was not advertised in email website or over the phone? When we walked into the screen porch that we were excited about hanging out in we noticed a mildew like smell that was unbearable an when we got inside the cottage the smell was worst! The bed looked like someone had just slept in it an the chairs were stained an disgusting, there was also no cable which really wasn’t a big deal minus the fact that it said there was online. I know this is a lot an may seem unreal but none of this was even the worst part as we walked into the kitchen we notice brown water leaking from fridge an mouse dropping on every surface the floor had not been swept or mopped in I don’t know how long the ceiling was brown and falling an we could smell propane coming from the stove. In the second bedroom there was a broken futon like literally half of it was on the floor an the windows were open with no screens an the curtain rod was broken an falling, the bedding on the bunk beds was gross an covered in dirt! The floor was not vacuumed!! I thought it couldn’t get worst until I entered the bathroom that literally smelt of mold an had broken disgusting slimey plastic liners dirty floors an dripping sinks! I dont know how in the world these people are open for business? When I went to ask for a different cottage I noticed They had marijuana plants growing right outside (I have nothing against growing, but wtf right outside your business?). They would not change our room as the said they had no others available It was Labor Day weekend an we were not able to find another place so we demanded some money back as we were not paying as much as they wanted to stay in this disgusting cottage not that the money returned was worth it as we had to use it to buy cleaning supplies an blankets for our stay. Please do not stay here it just about ruined our vacation they do not have what they say they do online it is not maintained or cleaned which is so unsafe especially during this pandemic we are in right now! Also I have never written a negative review in my life I love giving 5 stars, an I also love camping an roughing it, but we were not prepared for that kind of atmosphere an it really left us uncomfortable,I’ve just never been so disappointed in my life!!

I’ve stayed many places all over the world and this is one of the worst. I had had high hopes. My parents had come here almost fifty years ago I had read some good reviews, I’d driven past in my annual visits to the area…. It looked so cute and quaint. So I booked. They had a separate booking site. I marked that I had a two person and a dog. I knew it was going to be an extra 20 in my case (10$ a night). I arrived to check in and flips a slip in front of me and says it’s the wrong rate you didn’t say you were bringing a dog. So I’m charging you….. I engaged him in the conversation and he was rude about it charged me the unregistered pet rate. He told me to cover the furniture if he was going to get in the furniture. I told him not a problem because I already bring blankets. We get to the half cabin where the TV doesn’t work because they didn’t pay the cable. There is a dirty coffee maker and the room is musty and moldy smelling so strong you want to open the windows but it’s 50 degrees out but there’s no heat. The roll down blinds are permanently rolled down, there’s rips in the comforter…. If I could give it less than one star I would.

I had to cancel our stay and the guy would not refund money. He told me as long as he rented the cabin, he would refund the money minus $25. He will not refund any money because he said all cabins were not rented at the time. He is a total jerk to deal with and money hungry. Especially money hungry!!!!!

For the price, I wasn't expecting much. I reserved cottage 10. We got there and they gave us cottage 4, there were plumbing issues in cottage 10. The guy said I wouldn't have been happy with cottage 10 and decided to not call me and ask if it was okay to put us in a different cottage-"My bad" was what he told me. He said he let me have cottage 4 for the same price. Cottage 4 is dark and a bit dingy, the carpet needed a deep cleaning, trash was left in the one bathroom, hair in the tub of the other bathroom. I tried to cook dinner, no gas. We asked for gas to be turned on-"You need it turned on right now?" was the response we got. The handyman came, lit the pilot but only to the top of the stove, which we did not know. We ran to the store after dinner, came back to a kitchen that had a gas smell. The oven pilot was not lit. But that's okay because the oven didn't work! I tried to bake something in it a day later, it never lit. The pool was not open, I'd be surprised if it was last year. It was pretty gross.
Some of the cottages have been remodeled based on their web site. The others need work. The potential is there to be a really cute place.

Searched for a cabin with a screen porch and no carpet. These looked fine and reviews were decent. Sorely disappointed! See through blinds, must odors, and owner would not refund 1/2 of 2nd night as policy states. And we won’t even talk about the disgusting pool!
