Stayed here for 4 nights in July and will stay here again. Loved it. The owners are great. Very unassuming place. Simple, quiet cottages near the best that Acadia has to offer. If you want true Maine, without all of the fuss, at a great price, stay here. Cannot ask for anything better. We stayed in Cottage 19. Great kitchen... More

We stayed in one of the nicer cabins that they have here, and we weren't disappointed. It had two bedrooms, two full baths, a kitchen with eating space and a small living room. The air conditioner was huge loud and needed to be replaced, but other than that everything was in decent shape. With the extremely low prices these days... More

I visited MDI mid June and have been there at least 10 other times. It is a beautiful place to spend a vacation! I have never stayed at Hinckley's and decided to give it a try. There are a lot of mixed reviews claiming that this place is dirty and musty smelling. You have to remember that you are not... More

Nicely renovated cabins under the trees about two miles out from Acadia National Park. Even though the campground is just off Route 3, (the main road from Trenton to Bar Harbor), there isn't much traffic noise. The rates are reasonable, owners are easygoing. Daily housekeeping service.

I stayed 5 nights in cabin 19 with my girlfriend last week. It was so inexpensive, our expectations were honestly not too high. However, our cozy cabin provided everything we needed and more. It was a charming little place removed from the bustle of the town with a king bed, a working fireplace, a kitchen with all the equipment we... More

I'll start with the pros. Compared to all other lodging on the island, these cabins are very reasonably priced. I know because I compared about one hundred different places to stay on MDI. They are also what you might call "charmingly dilapidated," sort of like an old English countryside cottage where moss is growing on the roof and the whole... More

I stayed here in October to celebrate my 26 year anniversary the place was not what I was expecting at all. There wasn't a microwave (I was told the unit couldn't handle the wattage of a microwave lol) to heat meals or coffee only a stove so we had to do everything old fashioned style the only table is in... This was our first visit to Bar Harbour. The cabin was very comfortable and had everything we needed. We were on a budget, so chose Hinkley's with that mind, and were very happy with the simple cabin. There were others on the property that had been updated, but we chose one that hadn't been. So we weren't expecting anything fancy.... More

The property is very close to a Bar Harbor and is very quiet and quaint. The grounds are natural with pine needles all over and not groomed by any means and the tar seal needs some work BUT for under $60 per night you can't beat the quaint very clean rooms with comfortable beds and beautiful natural setting so close...
