The location to downtown Bar Harbor was excellent - a nice walk in a pretty area. Our room was in the attic and was very old and not well kept up. The bed was not comfortable, and we had to go down the hall to the bathroom (the innkeeper did warn us about that ahead of time). But the bathroom... More

We spent a few days at the inn on a mom and daughter hiking trip. Andrew was very helpful and gave us great tips regarding hiking trails. Inn is lovely, quiet and the guests friendly. The rooms are a good size and clean. We stayed in two rooms and both beds were comfy. Breakfast was delicious and an added bonus.... More

Andrew knows what he's doing. He runs a beautiful, welcoming, comfortable inn with just the right mix of privacy and personal attention -- not an easy balancing act, and we sometimes avoid B&Bs for that reason. Rooms are lovely and well appointed; we had the Devilstone for four nights and loved its colors and space (including an enormous bathroom that... More

Thornhedge Inn is fantastic. The innkeeper Andrew does an amazing job!! Breakfast was a 4 star meal. The rooms were beautiful. Housekeeping did a great job. Wine and cheese in the evening gave everyone a chance to socialize. We met some wonderful people. The location is central to everything. I would recommend Thornhedge Inn to anyone!!!1

This beautiful home is warm and welcoming and a quick walk to down town Bar Harbor. Andrew was a great host who made us feel comfortable (and serves a delicious breakfast in the morning). The room was beautiful and comfortable. We truly enjoyed our stay. Thank you, Andrew!

And Andrew is THE best! We had a noisy air conditioner on the first night so we didn't get much sleep. My husband spoke to Andrew about the problem and he took immediate action to ensure our stay was comfortable. We ended up staying in several different rooms as it is the peak season but, it wasn't a negative experience.... More

Thank you for your understanding and patience in the matter. You guys were really good sports, and you got a full tour of the house! I have since replaced every air conditioner in every room to ensure that our guests enjoy the best nights sleep possible. It was a pleasure having you both at the house with us, and I... More

We stayed at Thornhedge Inn for 6 nights for the fourth of July week. Andrew, the innkeeper, was very pleasant and helpful. He grew up in Bar Harbor and had a lot of great ideas for things to do and places to eat. The hometown 4th of July parade went right past the front porch of the Inn, which was... More

The Thornhedge Inn is a fabulous location for those visiting the Bar Harbor area. Parking in Bar Harbor can be crazy. Thornhedge offers off street parking and is within walking distance of everything in Bar Harbor. We stayed in the Stanwood room, which was perfect for two. This spacious room includes private access to a large balcony, which was just... More

Picked the middle of June for another June vacation. We enjoyed staying at the Thornhedge B&B last year and wanted to stay again. Being seniors we wanted to stay on the first floor and not have to haul our luggage upstairs. The first floor Chatwold room was conveniently located near the front door. It had a comfortable queen size bed,... More

This historic inn has ample size rooms with period furniture. Very comfortable and pleasant. An elegantly prepared and delicious breakfast awaits each morning, and wine and cheese are available each afternoon. It is conveniently located within walking distance of downtown Bar Harbor and is only a 10 min walk to the sandbar that is exposed at low tide to walk... More
