If you’re looking for an ultra modern, luxury type stay, this isn’t the place for you. If you want a clean, comfortable place with pretty views to rest & relax, this is a very good choice! Second trip to Maine, first trip to Bar Harbor area. We stayed two nights while exploring Acadia National Park and other sites nearby. It was in a great location…close to where we wanted to go, while being away from the crowds. I would have loved to stay here longer. The sunrises were so pretty! Room was very clean, beds comfortable. The view from our 1st floor room in the Atlantic building was beautiful. It’s probably even better from a 2nd floor room, but I tend to overpack so we chose a 1st floor. There are just stairs, no elevator, so chose a first floor if that might be an issue. I wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again. I’d love to come back and spend more time!…
This property is located within 3 miles of the main entrance for Acadia National Park, which was the focus of our visit to this area of Maine. The property is immaculately cared for by Heather and her family. While all of the furniture may not match, the rooms are very comfortable and the cleanliness is obvious. Her 'customer service' was excellent while being unobtrusive. Thank you, Heather and family, for providing a great place to stay while we were in this beautiful area !!
Heck it might be the original build. Everything was worn, faded or dirty. A light bulb was broken and scary to remove. The air conditioning unit was very noisy and ran almost constantly as it was not really very cool. Taking showers was a challenge as the water temperature was never constant. The floor of the tub had a funny patch which might have been due to a bad original installation. The result was a spongy feel to the tub. The room was small, I have had bigger cruise ship rooms! Parking spaces were assigned but without any logic other than to give us a longer walk to the room. Absolutely no lighting of the entry drive or sign off a dark, busy 2 lane road. Our room was listed as no view but the reality of the view that did existi has been diminished over time by trees.
Stayed 2 nights. Was located close to Acadia NP and Bar Harbor. Loved the private balcony to sit and watch the sunrise in the morning. Very clean and room was of a good size. Had coffee, teas , etc. in a separate building which was a very quick walk.
Our group of 6 had 3 rooms for 2 nights. We enjoyed it immensely. Comfortable rooms, very clean, lovely grounds with picturesque view of the water and surrounding first area. All amenities ( WiFi, fridge, microwave, AC/heat) worked fine. Bathrooms nice, just had to wait a little while for hot water, but once there it was fine. Highly recommend.
As a seasoned traveler I was quite surprised by this place. First of all great location, plenty of parking, and beautiful sunrise views! The rooms were clean and exactly as pictured online. Heather was friendly and very knowledgeable about the area. There are several outdoor areas to sit and enjoy a beautiful water view. The complementary coffee/tea was also an added convenience. We would definitely come back if ever in the area.
I have stayed at this hotel twice. The first time in a double queen room on a trip with my son. The room was good and comfortable. This stay was with my wife during a recent trip to Bar Harbor. The only available room was a small queen bed room on the back side of the hotel. The hotel said small, and it was. This should have been marketed as a single room. With two people and suitcases it was hard to move around. Our real complaint was the cleanliness of the room. It smelled "lived in," as if it had not been cleaned in a while. No clean/chemical/deodorant smell you usually have when walk-ing into a hotel room for the first time. The shower floor was gross. WiFi was also very spotty. WiFi was spotty as well. Since the room was in the back of the hotel, I have to wonder if it was out of sight, out of mind.…
The morning view from this hotel is amazing! It is a small hotel that is away from town, very quiet. We really enjoyed sitting by the outdoor fire pit late in the evening. The staff was very helpful. Rooms were clean. We would stay here again for sure.
We're only a couple days into a weeklong stay, but a gray, rainy morning presents a good opportunity to put in a good word for this place. We've been pleasantly surprised. We like the setting: It feels isolated and views are vegetation and ocean. The motel is set back from Route 3 by a long, wooded drive which blocks the busy-ness and noise of Bar Harbor Road, and it overlooks the distant bay. The property itself is older, but very well maintained. A wooden porch runs the length of the motel and offers a sitting area outside each room. There are additional sitting areas around the small pool and on two large wooden decks on the lawn. Our room is spacious - at least compared with the average mid-range motel room, adequately equipped and appointed, and very clean. This is the first hotel/motel we've visited with hardwood floors, which gives you an idea of the overall age and ambience. The furnishings are a somewhat eclectic mix of old and new, mostly "real" wood furniture with some age. It's very quiet here, inside and out, and that suits us just fine. We have found the staff to be friendly, helpful, responsive and very accommodating. We'd stay here again.…
End unit roomin 2-story building was large with a balcony overlooking Frenchman's Bay and the hills beyond. Comfortable king bed, small but efficient bathroom, clean, plenty of parking. Having coffee and tea available 8-8 was a nice asset. Pool overlooks the view as well, although we didn't use it. Located outside the congestion of Bar Harbor on rt 3 with easy access to the entrance to Acadia NP. Wifi was adequate except for the afternoon when everyone was trapped inside by the tropical storm passing through, which really slowed it down. Owner was inflexible about allowing an early check-in, but apparently we could have arranged for that in advance. We'd stay there again.
