It was our 30th anniversary. The goal, to remember why we fell in love. Not hard to do in this absolutely charming home. So very clean and well kept. We were greeted with flowers and smiles from Paul and Mary. Though we only stayed 2 nights, we were able to see and do so much thanks to the perfect location.
I loved the Snell House for my recent 2 week stay in Bar Harbor. I stayed in the studio while attending a course at the Jackson Labs, which is about 1.5 miles up the road. It was in the perfect location, the price was absolutely right, and I was able to both relax and get work done. The front porch and side yard are just lovely, and I wish I'd had more time to spend in them. Paul and Mary, the owners, are some of the nicest people I have ever met. They are available, responsive, and beyond accommodating. I sincerely hope to be able to stay again in the future!
Located on a dead end street in the middle of Bar Harbor. Quiet but yet right there. This is an older home so if you are looking for upscale look elsewhere. Great for our 2 families traveling together. Owners are very welcoming and friendly. Grounds are nice. Large side yard with garden and chairs for relaxing or enjoy coffee or drinks on the front porch.
We have been to Acadia National Park, Bar Harbor and surrounding vicinity many times over the past 20 years. We have camped in Sea Wall, Blackwoods and stayed at the Bar Harbor Inn & Spa, as well Seal Harbor & Bernard. You get the idea, we have tried many places in and around the area. This time we wanted to be in town so we could easily walk to the restaurants, (no cooking for this lady on vacation, but also the convenience of a cup of coffee and breakfast in my room. As much as Continental Breakfast is nice, sometimes you just want coffee in your pajamas. LOL The Snell House was the perfect fit. It is an older, yet charming location. Close to everything but on a quiet, dead end street. Just 2 of us so we stayed in the Studio, it was perfect, see the photos at the site. Every afternoon we sat in the yard and literally watch "Mary's garden grow", the front porch is also a delightful place to have a glass of wine before you head out to a lobster dinner. Paul & Mary are wonderful hosts, helpful and available if you need something, but respectful of your privacy. We would definitely stay there again. I can envision brining friends or family along next time. OH another attraction, off street parking is available and easy access to the shore path.…
My mom and I often travel together and sometimes it is hard to find an inn that has two bedrooms...the Snell House did and was perfect for us. It also has a full kitchen and a nice bathroom. Paul and Mary were wonderful hosts and helped us so much before and during our stay. We would definitely return here next year.
