The name West Street Hotel may throw you off, but don’t be fooled! It is a contemporary establishment with a charming nautical theme. The rooms have balconies overlooking the Bay, lovely boats, yachts, and 5 masted schooner, along with restaurants and shops. No matter the hustle during the day, it is quiet in the rooms, and in the evenings. Very close to the beautiful Acadia National Park. However, as are all National Parks, it is a bit crowded, and was necessary to get a permit and time online, well ahead to drive up the Cadillac Mountain Road, which was well worth it for amazing views. The hotel has a great little Irish pub and restaurant downstairs, and a seafood restaurant directly across the street with both indoor and deck dining. There are also nature and whale watch trips within feet of the hotel. The staff is quite friendly and accommodating….along with the owner’s lovely dog. We will certainly return for another autumn trip!…
Although this was a very nice hotel it was very pricey.Very clean and view from The balcony was beautiful and the rooftop pool was beautiful.Nothing totally special about the inside of the room. Nice but not oh my God . Great location, but not sure it’s worth $750 an evening.
Lovely hotel. Great location. Does not meet ADA guidelines so if in wheelchair do not book here. Sink not even close to guidelines so must brush and shave from the side. When advised of the site they could check for guidelines got defensive and said her aunt is a nurse and had checked it out😩
My sister and I had reserved a cottage for the week, but I knew it was in an area of town with no view and I wanted to "wow" my sister as we arrived for her first visit to BH. So I added a night to our trip and stayed here our first night--what a fantastic choice!! Everything about it is just fantastic and I would love to stay here again! First of all they have their own private parking lot in a prime location. There's a lovely fire going in the lobby with comfy furniture and big bowls of Hershey's kisses sitting around. Every part of the hotel was immaculate and so crisp and nautical looking without being kitschy. Our room was so clean and the beds were so comfortable--it was our only night of the entire trip with black-out shades so we were able to sleep late. Beds super comfy. Rooms were beautiful and roomy. Our room (I think all rooms?) had a lovely balcony--where we ate our room service breakfast (delicious, prompt, you order the night before and hang the order on your doorknob) . As soon as we arrived the first night, after dropping our stuff in the room, we went up to the roof where we enjoyed a fabulous 360 view and enjoyed the sunset on comfy furniture. Our only slight complaint was the kind of weird set up for the "snacks" on each floor. We couldn't get the nespresso machine to work and I stopped one of the housekeepers and she couldn't get it to work either--she discovered it was jammed with too many pods and we finally gave up on it and used the Keurig. Nice to have bagged ice and bottles of water there.....great selection of coffees and teas but weird to have to wait as others were getting coffee too. they said there would be snacks out from 7-9 pm and we hoped to indulge but we didn't see any snacks out until close to 9 pm. The night we were there, the snacks were dark chocolate sea salt Kind bars....I love those, great choice...but for an evening snack? Dark chocolate and nut bars don't exactly facilitate good sleep. Maybe just re-think those choices a bit. Otherwise--a stellar location and property. Highly recommend--worth it!…
My sister and I had the pleasure of staying at the West Street Hotel for 3 nights the last week of September 2021. The hotel is new, (built in 2012), and is very close to the harbor and great restaurants and shops. When we checked in, the very gracious staff member at the front desk told me that we were being given a free upgrade. We ended up in a suite with two large, beautiful rooms with wonderful king beds, comfortable sitting areas and large sparkling clean, modern bathrooms. We were thrilled about this! I loved the nautical decorating themes in our rooms and in the lobby. The lobby area had some very cozy and comfortable seating areas to offer another place to sit and visit. Another cool feature was the adults-only, rooftop pool and fantastic view of the harbor and the town of Bar Harbor. The view was stunning at night! We had breakfast included in our package and each morning we ate at Paddy's Pub which is connected to the hotel. The food was wonderful and we had a very nice and professional server who waited on us each morning. He remembered our preferences and was attentive without being intrusive. It was easy to drive to Acadia National Park from the hotel which was another big plus. I loved the West Street Hotel and recommend it highly..…
